Monster.com tried to get into the auction business by allowing people to auction their services online. Turns out people don’t want to hire others that way. Or something along those lines, because of the thousands of folks who are trying to auction themselves off, close to no one has had any success. Of course, I’m sure that won’t stop a few startups from trying to raise a few million dollars to try to do the same thing.
