More Ways to Deface a Web Page

More companies are now coming out with products that let you annotate or discuss a particular website. Some of them actually look pretty cool, but I sense another standards battle coming up soon. With all these different technologies, which one do you use? They should all agree on some sort of standard, or Microsoft will just come along and create their own version and build it right into IE and then where will these comapnies be?
