New Domain Registrars Named

from the let-the-competition-begin dept

ICANN finally got around to releasing the names of the new domain registrars to compete with Network Solutions. Included in the bunch are AOL and Register.com. Not sure how I feel about AOL doing it, as I could see them doing some weird things, but you never know. They certainly know how to make things easy. All I know is that hopefully competition should make the whole process a lot more reasonable. Interestingly, among those snubbed was AT&T & Net Names, both of whom I thought would get it.
