AOL Buys When.com

from the feeding-frenzy dept

When.com joins the ranks of Webcal and earns the envy of the sixty million other web-based calendaring systems by being acquired by AOL. I think just about everyone agrees that the web-based calendar business is not even remotely sustainable on its own, and is just another set of businesses waiting to be acquired. In looking over them, When.com seemed like one of the more complete offerings, so it probably makes sense. No mention, however, of the price. Update 12:00pm: Seems that just yesterday the San Jose Merc did a story about all these Web Calendaring companies and put together a nice little chart comparing them all. Actually, it’s missing a few more that I know, but this just gives you an idea how many of these there are.
