Broadcast.com President Speaks His Mind

from the time-to-sell dept

The President of Broadcast.com gave an interesting talk that is reported on in Wired. In it, he discusses his theory that pay-for-content will be the next big business model, and MP3 is going to die out due to pressure from streaming formats from companies like Real Networks. An interesting read in that I disagree with a huge percentage of what he says. Content, for the most part, (in my opinion) will remain free for the most part (basic economic argument: marginal cost for new copy = 0, price should = 0). Oh well. Not worth getting into the rest of the discussion, but it’s an interesting read, no matter what.
