IBM To Reach For Unwired Workers
IBM is coming out with a new version of Lotus that focuses on connecting "deskless" workers to email. The idea is that factory workers, retail clerks, and health care workers need email also, for certain corporate reasons, but it's difficult since they're not at desks with computers all day. So, they're building a solution specifically designed for these types of workers, to access on various mobile devices - or at random workstations. Of course, it's not entirely clear how this is different from just moving regular email accounts to be accessible on various devices, but it might just be a marketing thing.
