How I Learned To Love Spam

from the desperate-times... dept

Spam sucks. However, some people are apparently trying to mentally condition themselves not to hate spam, but, instead, to find some sort of redeeming value. For instance, now you have the power to quickly and easily reject many people in a single day. Doesn't that feel good? Well, not to me, but the writer of that article seems to think so. He then goes into some weird argument that sounds like it's likely to appear at the bottom of spam email in the future - saying that we're all "access snobs" who want to be able to be in contact with anyone we want, but who are unwilling to allow the world to have contact back with us. The difference, of course, is that I can tell some random bozo to bug off if I never want to hear from him again. I can't do that with spam.
