How exactly does having so much data that you struggle to store and process it keep the country safe?
One of the many reasons I will never bother with any form of online gaming.
The Guardian are not the story here.
Edward Snowden is not the story here.
The story is the gross invasion of innocent people's privacy by the US and UK intelligence services. We must not get distracted by the idiocy of apologists.
All characters and events portrayed in this game are fictional. Any resemblance to real life is coincidental.
Isn't that on all fictional works these days?
Indoctrination at it's finest. It's not just for religion anymore.
They only want to improve the relationship on their terms and to their benefit only.
New sites don't even need to pop up. This isn't a take down like the Megaupload case or even ISP level filtering like is happening in the UK.
This is forcing a couple of search engines to remove allegedly infringing sites from their search results.
All people have to do is use a different search engine or, better yet, bookmark their favourite site.
Governments need to learn the exact same thing.
Still cannot grasp what search engines are.
Next, they will be ordering the removal of criminals' phone numbers from the phone book.
Precisely, we are already hurtling down a slippery slope with no sign of slowing down.
And UK ministers are to order ISPs to block 'extremist' or 'terrorist' websites.

What I would like to know is who decides what are terrorist or extremist websites.
Tell you what though. I will never ever buy a smart TV. The only devices I want connected to the Internet are my computer and my tablet.
UK govt launching an inquiry into LG while attacking the Guardian for their publication of the Snowden leaks.
You really couldn't make this stuff up.
Wonder will this make a blind bit of difference to politicians. I very greatly doubt it. After all, the entertainment industries ignore study after study debunking their propaganda.
I ask again, how is blocking a few search terms on a search engine going to stop child abuse content and make children safer? Leaving aside, of course, that this content is already blocked by the BT cleanfeed system.
And yet you seem to support this kind of hand wringing idiocy.
"Stop the problem at its source"
How, exactly, is blocking search terms on a search engine stopping the problem at the source?
This is nothing but authoritarian hand wringing designed to appease the knuckle dragging morons who read the Daily Mail and the like. It will accomplish nothing.
Let's not forget that the greatest threat to children comes from someone known to the child. The overwhelming majority of cases of child abuse involve a family member, family friend or person of authority abusing their position of trust.
Cameron is focusing on the minority threat while ignoring the majority threat (not that the threat comes from Google anyway), and that will leave children in more danger.
Two years to general election and the main political parties don't want the plebs remembering all those broken promises.
Ironically, the material is available elsewhere and deleting them from their own site will only draw people's attention to it.
Pathetic lack of understanding of what the Internet is.

Good God that is a real tongue twister
