  When it comes to technology, the only person in Congress who can be relied on consistently is Ron Wyden. Ignoring him in a comment like yours implies that you don't know much about tech policy and/or your Congressional representation. AOC is fine in some areas, but occasionally questionable when it comes to tech.

  This lawsuit is perfectly timed so that, when it succeeds, nobody will remember that it was started by the Biden administration, and Trump gets to take credit for helping farmers. Once again, Dems prove that they have no clue how to play the "this is how you win elections" game.

Now nobody's going to enforce this, unless Elon decides he really, really wants tiktok. In which case, Trump will just force a sale so that his best buddy can buy it.

  In a case that seems to defy both law and basic human decency, King Vanga, a Stanford student, got into a car accident that resulted in the deaths of Pamela and Jose Juarez.

  "Got into an accident" is NYTimes-level weaseling here. He caused an accident. He negligently smashed into their car at a high rate of speed. He killed them. There are lots of ways to word the quoted sentence without implying that it was something that happened TO this asshole rather than BY this asshole.

  I don't give a shit about Kamala OR Biden, nancy - try again. The only thing that matters is policy, and Republican policy begins and ends with corporate handouts. Dem policy also begins there, but actually helps some people along the way (ACA, infrastructure, etc).

  I'm somewhat torn on this question. Who is worse: Elon, who sucks off Trump because he whole-heartedly supports racist, authoritative ideology? Or Zuck/Cook/Nadella/Pichai, who suck off Trump and support racist ideology because they want to make a buck? Is there really any difference?

  I've had this argument at my library

  Librarian here: I've had this discussion at the library where I work in the US, where other librarians say, "Some of the images we've digitized are available on Ebay as prints! People are making money off of our work! What should we DO?!" My response: "Thank them. We exist to provide access to information. They're helping provide even more access to information. That information is not ours; it's everyone's."

  Some studies show that people educated with the Bible have more difficulties to discern tales from reality.

  I'm as atheistic as they come, but anyone who makes a claim about "studies show" and don't link to any studies is a POS. While I'm here, people who watch their news instead of reading it from decent sources is dumb, and the whole problem with the US. News isn't entertainment.

  People are too stupid for this to matter. They want to be lied to, because the alternative is to know things and learn things and be an educated person, and obviously people hate that. The US is a failed state, killed by our preference to remain fat and stupid. Bring on the AI. (Other countries can make their own choices, but I don't see them being any better for the most part.)

  This very obviously varies by state. Similarly, cops have your registration information available to them at all times, but in most states you still have to show it to them. One thing I'll add of value (since you couldn't be bothered) is this: If your locality requires you to provide insurance info in a traffic stop, keep it in hard copy and give the cop that rather than handing them your phone (many places allow you to show electronic evidence of insurance). Giving a cop your phone is always, always a terrible idea.

  It's almost like fealty to either party makes you a dumbass rube, and people should vote based on specific policies and their expected outcomes rather than parties, or the personalities involved. But then Americans would need to learn literally anything about any policy, and that's very obviously a bridge too far.

  Like most iOS features, every Android phone has had this ability for at least 2 years. It's not on (on any phone afaik) by default, though.
