And you see no difference between a preview screening at 1 or 2 theaters, and releasing the film over the net to the entire world to anybody and everybody that wants to watch it for a 10 day period?
I think I understand your problem.
This scheme will only work if your movie is about food and you have a recipe book that you can bundle with it.

1. The Daily Mail is about as trashy publication as there is, and has no right to complain about anything.
2. If someone wants to watch Porn, it is none of my or the governments business.
3. Nude or Naked is in no way the equivalent of Porn. (i.e. The Picture of Madonna linked & Venus di Milo classy. "Debbie gets creamed" not so much).
This makes perfect sense to me. I can't keep track of the number of times I've been in a restroom and looked down at the brand label on the urinal and thought to myself, "If these people just sponsored the Olympics, I'd buy one of these!"
Actually if you look at 2010 he had recording expenses but no recording income. In 2011 he had recording income but no recording expenses. It appears to me he recorded and album in 2010 that was released in 2011.
"and we assert that the home printing of the Free Universal Construction Kit constitutes protected fair use."
And of course every home has a 3D printer sitting in the office.
I guess I should have read all of the comments before I made mine. Hulser said the same thing better.
While I like the idea of both proposals that Senator Wyden wanted to put it, I don't like the idea of putting them in a totally unrelated bill any more than I like the entertainment industry hiding additional IP restrictions in unrelated bills.
Any chance of getting a copy of the original cease and desist from Kaplan????
It wasn't $27.50 per hyperlink, it was 27.50 per student. Don't know if that is per year or per semester.
Getting one idiot to spend $250 million for a single seat to a movie would make it a high grossing movie, but if that is the only ticket sold, it wouldn't be successful with the public, which is key.
Maybe if they had lowered the price of the ticket to $249 million that could have sold two.
" Why not point out that the vast majority of the video game players are playing free or penny games, not buying the big titles? People playing farmville isn't really something to use to justify anything, sorry!"
Is it possible that the people choosing to play farmville instead of buying "the big titles" has more to do with the quality (or lack there of) of the big titles than with the sky falling. If more people are having fun playing games and the overall money being made is higher, why should I care that people aren't buying "the big titles".
Maybe Google could use this in their Anti-Trust defense.
"How could we possibly be guilty of anti-trust violations, when we don't have enough traffic to be counted as a 'Big' site?"
It obviously wasn't bad grammar or the post wondering about it would have been held. :)
I had a post held for moderation. With all the malevolence sometimes found in some of the posts by the AC's, I wondering what kicked the trigger, to have a post held for Moderator review.
Also, I don't believe that Gideons International has their own translation. They may copyright the introduction and the study aids, but in the US at least the bible itself is in fact KJV.
I think there are a lot more editions that are copyrighted than that. The Revised English Bible for example is copyrighted by Oxford and Cambridge Press. The Revised Standard Version, and the New Revised Standard Version are both copyrighted by the National Council of Churches of Christ. With a little research I'm sure you could find others. The only one I found that was copyright waived was the World English Bible.
Congratulations AC @ 8:10pm. Not only did you get the first comment in, but you gave an example that will be pointed to for years in the blogosphere on how to establish a truly meaningful dialog while holding an opposing view. Your skill at prose is simply amazing.
As I pointed out above. Righthaven supposedly has some software that they developed or paid to have developed that they own the IP to. They specifically mentioned it in one of their replies explaining what a hardship it would put on them if it were seized.
Progress is slow
Hey, they just finished figuring out how to get them big reels of film onto those shinny plastic disks. Now you expect them to already figure out how to get the shinny plastic disks down pieces of glass fiber. It may be possible, but it is going to take time.
