brilliant! very eloquent, if I might add! You, sir, are the paragon of poetic argument!
100 million dollars! We can take money with us... right?
man this conversation is confusing when "patents" and "parents" look so similar, I almost read you post completely wrong! 6_9
yes, the technology is out there, as you say, in the form of "Speak for Yourself" the ONLY product the parents could find to help their daughter! And if the other companies offered it I would agree with you, but they DON'T!
I for one feel sorry for your future children... if you ever have any...
Hey I resent that! Not all Americans are like that... In fact most arn't I'm sure! Just a loud minority think people can afford $7k on a product, a product that may or may not work.
:[
I agree, software accelerates way faster than any patent system can hope to keep up with, so instead it just drags it down.
Well, the Ipad GUI doesn't allow for those kinds of things, because it was, well, made by Apple. And Apple likes to tell it's customers what they can and can't do with the product they bought.
I think what he meant was that the current patent system doesn't work. I'm all for patents, or maybe some alternative to rewarding invention, but the current patent system is too restrictive. We need to find a new way or at least adjust current patent law so that it is not so restrictive on growth.
Perhaps a shorter monopoly, or more strict guidelines for new patents. Another idea is to have rewards for patents, new original patents which means stricter guidelines.
I was wondering about that, didn't mean to paste that here? :D
In the provided source the article claimed it was a group of academics speaking to a parliamentary committee. I don't know why you keep insisting the article claims it was at a "Public Hearing" but ignore the big bold letters that state that it was indeed for parliament, or at least a committee
ah ok, I thought the previous AC was talking about the Techdirt paragraph, that clears things up.
The only obvious explanation is that Google has finally taken over the government, and that their first plan of action is to turn Techdirt into a government subsidized propaganda mill to indoctrinate us in the tenets of Google-ism!
"Don't be evil" was such an obvious ruse! why did we not see it before!
but... it is only one paragraph...
The source Mike provides states a group of Academics was talking to a Parliamentary committee... soooo... your wrong :P
Re: Re: Re: Moving a file? Too hard??
well, you can delete things and buy new things from the i-tunes store if you have 4G, but that's about it :P
