Telegram has had both a desktop app and end to end encryption for years. Neither of these things are new to Telegram.
For a while secret chats (end to end encryption) were only available on the mac app, and not the cross platform qt app. I'm not sure if that is still true.
I noticed that Apple was very careful to only state that they have never made a backdoor in iOS, or iCloud. They easily could have said that they never did this in any of their products instead of specifying which ones. Was this because they lawyers were focusing on iOS, or have they built backdoors into other products?
