    What someone says is important, as it helps you know what they want you to think they believe but when they say something can be even more important as it shows you how much they actually believe something. That Cassidy only started speaking out against RFK Jr after losing his election undermines any complaints he might express by showing that to the extent that he might actually be expressing his honest opinions he valued his political career more than the countless people he put in harm's way by confirming RFK Jr's nomination to begin with and not trying to rectify that horrendous mistake when it became clear just how terrible it was.

    Techbros: AI is the new digital messiah that can solve everything for cheaper than paying for those filthy 'employees' to do it and do it quicker as well, so we need to use AI as much as possible on as many things has possible. People get fired, stuff breaks and/or is more cumbersome, and the quality of products/services tanks because AI is putting out broken stuff that needs humans to fix it after the fact Techbros: Why do all the filthy peasants hate AI so much?!

    All too understandable sadly...

    But the real mystery is why the do-nothings in Congress just can’t be bothered to push back directly on all of this. Oh that's simple enough to explain, it's a mix of cowardice and complicity. On the one hand you've got those that might personally object to what's being done but who have decided that keeping their cushy non-jobs is more important than the hundreds of millions of lives of everyone else in the country and therefore stay silent, and on the other hand you've got those that look at the legislative, legal and literal carnage taking place and love it because it's not like anyone that matters is being harmed but plenty of people they hate are.

    Neither DHS nor ICE responded to Noticias Telemundo’s request for official statistics about cases of fake ICE agents. They also did not comment on the trends revealed by this investigation. I have no doubt that their silence is because, to the extent that they have an opinion on masked non-ICE thugs going around assaulting and/or robbing people it's in favor of both the actions taking place and those engaging in them. The point of the current US gestapo is to act as state-sponsored thugs and terrorists, why would they object when someone's out there doing it without having to be paid?

    While I imagine normally this would be enough to cow Disney and get them to kneel in submission for once the 'profits are the only thing that matters' mindset that plagues large companies is working in the public's favor because it wasn't that long ago that Disney found out that sacking a popular comedian to appease the regime does not go over well with the US public and in fact ends up costing the company more than refusing to fight back saved them.

    If a politician actually wanted to protect children online they should be putting forth legislation to fund programs to educate parents on how to talk to their kids about the internet, what they might find there and how to deal with it. Mandating that every gorram platform and company out there has to collect highly personal and very valuable to all the wrong people information from kids and adults is if anything just making things drastically worse for everyone, kids included.

    No demand when hiring means no supply, but if you're only after the 'supply'...

    Personally the biggest tell(before they ripped the mask entirely off and stopped pretending) that the entire movement was only ever racism-based was how any 'anti-immigration' efforts only ever went after the workers, to the point that the farmers and ranchers that were employing undocumented immigrants were willing to admit on live, national tv that they were doing so, so confident were they that they weren't the targets despite the fact that going after the employers would be infinitely more effective at reducing undocumented workers stealin' the jerbs than going after the workers.

    Siding with russia and the bigots running it even as it continues it's war with Ukraine, either Steam decided it wanted to try to appeal to the MAGAt crowd or someone couldn't be bothered to ask their PR team how well this would look for the company in the current climate. They could have come out of this looking while not great at least not as terrible as they do, shooting a message telling the developer that while they don't have a problem with the existence of LGBTQ+ people(they have money to spend too after all) they did consider throwing that entire group under the bus if it meant access to the market an acceptable trade, and as a result they can't sell the game in that country, but nope, boilerplate message that blames the developer for either accidentally or deliberately offering their games for sale in that country run by warmongerers and bigots.

    warning that immigrants have “shopped in the same stores, attended the same classes as our children, and lived seemingly normal human existences.” I'd say 'tell me you don't consider non-white immigrants are human without telling me you don't consider non-white immigrants are human' but I see they aren't even pretending at this point and are outright saying exactly that.

    Those that push book bans love to talk about how they're only trying to protect the vulnerable minds of kids from being exposed to 'pornographic content' yet as stories like this show that's always just the excuse, the real goal is and always has been to exploit kids to remove books that the adults find objectionable, and it's telling how often those removals can be categorized simply as 'positively portrays someone that isn't straight, white and CIS, or negatively portrays in a negative light someone that is.'

    An interviewer willing to hold the other person's feet to the fire over their statements and positions and accepting that they might only get the one interview because they pissed off the other person so much that they're not willing to come back for a second is a good way to get actual journalism done. An interviewer who only lobs softball questions, was handpicked by the person being interviewed and is perfectly happy to nod along agreeably to anything said is how you get propaganda and/or unpaid PR releases.

    Sure, contrition is welcomed. But it’s not quite as welcome when (1) ICE had already disclosed this fact, (2) the DHS continues to post an unwarranted attack on this “activist judge,” and (3) nobody in the government appears willing to act honestly until a court forces them to do it. If someone's words and their actions conflict trust their actions. They can issue statements about how they are terribly sorry for 'accidentally' putting out a hit-piece on the judge but their actions make clear that the apology is being made in just as much good-faith as the attack. The regime will only ramp up their attacks on any judge that doesn't bend the knee and kiss the ring so long as judges keep threatening consequences rather than applying them, and if they don't like it they can grow a spine or resign themselves to being beat on the regular.

    SCOTUS whining that people increasingly consider them illegitimate and partisan hacks is like someone that's currently running around punching toddlers whining that people are accusing them of being violent. When you make undeniably clear that you don't consider any law or legal ruling, even your own from mere days back as binding and that your only bedrock is 'the regime always wins' then you deserve nothing but mockery and doubling-down when you complain of people pointing out how openly corrupt you are.
