  • Trump Administration Won’t Stop Mandatory Detention Of Migrants Despite 200 Court Rulings Calling It Illegal

Of course they ruled that way, 'Whatever Trump wants he gets' is their only rule at this point since they completely though not honestly dropped all pretense about respecting or even caring about the law or constitution.

It helps when they don't care either way, either the enemy dies and they get to crow about how great 'murica is, or US troops die and they get to exploit that to show how this demonstrates how terrible the enemy is and how the public needs to let the regime to whatever it takes to stop them.

    Complacency kills campaigns

I agree that's what should happen, but never underestimate the stupidity of the american public and the ability for fanatics to overlook any amount of their own suffering if it means the hated Other is suffering too and/or they can scapegoat the Other for what one of their own did to them. The dems may have plenty to work with with a rightly pissed public but it's still on them to use it to get themselves in office as opposed to falling to complacency or worse thinking this is a good time to 'reach across the isle' under the mistaken belief that the republicans will be more likely to operate in good faith if things are going poorly for them.

Making it easier for kickbacks might be a factor too I suspect...

Man it's a good thing that lives don't depend upon the military's tech and gear being not just good but tested and reliable, otherwise rush ordering like this would sure seem like a great way to put the troops in even greater danger than them having to use older but time and stress-tested gear and tech.

Of course they'd destroy a program like that, if taxes are quick and easy to file then that's a boon for those with less wealth and makes it slightly harder for the rich to exploit the system to keep as much of their money as possible, and since republicans hate both...

'I know you are but what am I?!'

The funny thing is she's not entirely wrong, she just got the parties mixed up. I've no doubt that a huge part of why so many elections went to the democrats is directly because people had just experienced nine months of republican rule and decided that no in fact, they didn't want more of that and in fact the fewer republicans in office the better. As for the desperate lie that this was somehow a 'win' for the republicans that is exposed as one by the simple observation that if democrats winning was actually a loss for democrats then republicans not only wouldn't care about a democrat running for office they'd support it. They'd want the democrat to win because according to their argument that would just result in more people voting republican the next election and yet... that's not what you see. They were flinging insults and slurs left and right trying to keep Mamdani out of office. They never pass up a chance to tell everyone how by electing a democrat to office you might as well light your bank account, personal flag and house on fire yourself to save time. They do everything they can to keep people from voting democrat when if Ingraham were honest and telling the truth they'd want people voting democrat so that everyone would see rather than just be told how terrible democrats in office are for the average person.

Well past time for judges to take the silk gloves off

A bluff never called becomes reality. A law never enforced effectively doesn't exist. Judges can rule that the regime's actions are illegal all they want, if they want the regime to care then they need to return the favor and start locking up those that are ignoring their orders for contempt of court. Start throwing the modern day gestapo in cells and then they might hesitate before engaging in human trafficking, if all the a judge does is tell them 'You're not supposed to be doing that' then why would that matter to them?

  • Trump Cybersecurity Policy Is Indistinguishable From A Foreign Attack

    That One Guy ( profile ), 07 Nov, 2025 @ 01:15pm

When the result is the same either way, 'motive' takes a back-seat

I suspect that the reason the regime is so dedicated to ensuring that US systems are as unsecured as possible is so that they can exploit them for money and/or power, but the fact that the actions would be no different were they being directed to act like this by a hostile foreign power renders that rather moot. Whether they're doing it for their own goals or at the behest of a foreign adversary the end result is the same, the US is weakened and significantly more open to being attacked and undermined by malicious actors.

Sometimes the cover-up's worse than the crime

I'm really struggling to think of a non-damning story about why they'd be so desperate to scrub any mention of the company and I'm coming up blank. The first DMCA I could maybe buy as someone using a bot to spot potential 'infringement' and no-one at the company double-checking before filing the DMCA claim. Plenty of stories in TD's archive about that sort of thing so it's not like it would be the first time a company had done that. Still damning, but not necessarily malicious. This second DMCA though... yeah, this just screams 'We screwed up and rather than own it let's try to bury the story', which is not a good look for any company, never mind one that wants you to trust that they're on the up and up when dealing with your privacy and private data.

What 'dilution'? Palworld exists and people are still buying Pokemon even if it means giving Nintendo money, if that really is their motivation(personally I think it's just their usual control freak nature in overdrive) then they're just exposing how weak and open to disruption the pokemon brand is, that anything even remotely similar to it existing can be a serious threat to it's success and financial viability.

'Rule by brute force' is the shakiest form of rule

The regime is almost certainly going to ramp up their cruelty and brutality in order to maintain 'order' and cow people back into believing that there's no point in fighting back against their attempted overthrow of the country, but the article is correct in saying that this should be seen as signs of weakness as if the majority of people in the country truly do support and agree with you you don't need shows of force to convince them you're right.

  • The Simulation Is Collapsing

    That One Guy ( profile ), 06 Nov, 2025 @ 01:28pm

Is it the victory that will turn everything around? No. Is it a victory, a showing that increasingly more and more people are seeing through the regime's lies that everythingis normal and things are going great are only true if you're rich and utterly loyal to the regime? Yes. As the article points out things are almost certainly going to get much nastier in short order as the regime and it's supporters try to regain control of the narrative and force people back into submission but that should be seen as weakness rather than strength, a showing that people don't actually support their actions and positions and are willing to stand up to fight against them. The marathon isn't won but this was a good first stretch and should serve as encouragement to keep pushing and ignore those that try to claim that there's no point in running it at all.

  • Mamdani’s Win Shows That Believing In Something Beats Performative Hatred

    That One Guy ( profile ), 06 Nov, 2025 @ 01:11pm

'It's failed every time so far, that means we haven't tried hard enough!'

Imagine that, when you lay out clear and concise policy plans aimed at helping people rather than just hurting those you hate people tend to support you, all the more so after they've had almost a year's worth of experience that when you vote for hate and suffering that includes you... Between what happened during the last presidential election and what happened during this wave of elections it should be crystal clear that trying to pander to republicans and appease them by bending over backwards to convince them that you're not [Insert evil label here they couldn't define if their life depended on it] is a failing strategy that only plays into the hands of republicans by alienating a democrat candidate from dem and independent voters while making them look like a laughingstock to republican voters who want real republicans, not republican-lite. Any 'consultant' advising dems to 'tone it down', 'reach across the isle' and 'maybe look into adopting a few more conservative positions' at this point is at best a republican plant looking to sabotage the democrat candidate, because if they're not that implies a denial of reality so extreme as to reach the level of 'someone needs to see a psychologist now'.

If the school's resource officer is that jumpy and prone to call the cops sounds like the principal should see about finding a replacement, and if the cops are that jumpy that a non-alert is grounds for eight cars then they're probably not the safest to call for any emergencies.
