Those unable to give respect to their opponent deserve none in return. Being disrespectful to people you disagree with is not a strength.
Do we have arrests and prosecutions on record for someone only linking to child porn sites but not actually transmitting or storing the images?
Illegal <> wrong. One is an intellectual rule the other is a moral judgment. Many things that have been and are against the law are not "wrong". There are also "wrong" things that are legal (depending on your moral standards of course).
I left my key in the car and my car got stolen. I am holding Ford Motor Co. responsible because they should have known it was not ME turning the key.
Suppose 4 "investors" buy up the first million subscriptions. So right out of the gate, the first album they release is going to be considered an instant "platinum" album because 4 suckers paid some money to some upstart company? Really? That's not a million record sales. That's not a million subscribers.
I think this would be considered a joke by any artists who actually sold a million albums.
Based on the director's actions, he has no credibility in my perception so I have no desire to watch his documentary.
There are a ton of 2.99 to 0.99 apps on the Apple App store that can be completely used up in a week. Games that could be beaten with little replay value, tons of gimmick apps whose novelty wears off within a few days, and many, many more. Seven days free of every app out there would certainly cause many apps to lose sales.
But if that is restricted and only offered to Taiwan, how much would that really hurt the sales globally, where 7 day previews will not be offered?
There are plenty of sites that let you sign up and get tens of thousands of followers with no effort. The number of followers you have is an absolutely useless number for determining anything about the tweeter.
If he had his way, there would be no movies based on older stories, like the recent rendition of Alice In Wonderland and many other films. The descendants of the author, no matter how many generations removed could lock up the stories of someone deep in their family tree or demand insane licenses fees (after the movie is made of course).
There is very little that is completely original anymore. Every time a movie comes out there would be plenty of people claiming that someone in their family somewhere copyrighted the story first. The cost of the legal challenges alone would be prohibitive.
Not just movies, any expression that expects to make money can also expect to share its profits with all those who claim resemblances to work done by anyone in their family.
On the plus side, this will certainly cause a boost in genealogy research. :) Might be smart to get your family details now before demand increases the price.
Cell phones track your movement. Local and federal governments can access your smartphones at stoplights and other places. Every credit card transaction is tracked and your buying habits are traded as a commodity. Cameras are everywhere, in a metro area you are likely photographed/filmed 200+ times a day. Unsecured wi/fi is used by even your friendly neighbors. Your ISP keeps detailed records of all your online activities in order to hand them over to the government whenever it asks.
Nothing that Google does is any different than anything else going on in our modern lives. The only people whining about Google are those who haven't been as successful as they have at monetizing.
Google isn't the one you need to worry about. They don't maintain an armed force that can come kick in your door and take you away at gunpoint when a neighbor uses your wi/fi for something they don't like.

I had an LG Vue years ago that could pick up digital television signals. It even had a retractable TV antenna. You paid $15 a month and had access to a decent number of channels. Here is a video from 2008 demonstrating it.

You guys are taking this the wrong way. This is obviously an effort to reduce unemployment by taking more people out of the job market and putting them in jail. More people in jail = more jobs available for the people without computers.
I enjoyed the article and learned something. As for the negative comments, you can't put much stock in critics who lack the confidence in their own remarks to sign them.
If a President doesn't have the backbone (assuming he ever had intention) to keep his word, the excuse of "fear" will not fool any except those who desire to be fooled.
There have been puds ex's for a pretty long time. It's only now that IP has become so outrageous that they believe they have the right to make such laughable demands. They are not pointing out he is a pud, they are pointing out that this belief that we can somehow own and monetize our every idea and experience on the backs of others has caused the pud to think his demands are rational.
The statement that the PSN was down was incorrect and still is incorrect. Still up. Still signed in. Not saying there wasn't an exploit, just saying that the PSN is not currently down here in eastern US.
In fact, when following the link, you learn that:
"This story's headline is completely inaccurate. What's been taken down is several website login pages that use PSN accounts, such as Qrocity.com."
Question
Who will pay the ISP for each account they suspend or disconnect? Removing Internet access is certainly affecting their business model.
