On ALL Government systems there is a "Login Warning" that states if you are not authorized access to that system you can be prosecuted if you proceed. He ignored the warning. He should have instead notified his supervisor that he had received the login information.
News reporters and photographers are acting as representatives of the general public and should be given greater latitude that would be given to every gawker that might happen along. That having being said it needs to be pointed out that Police Officers have a tendency to abuse their authority, and courts should keep that in mind when returning these decisions.
If the "New York Times" is a legitimate newspaper then the "National Enquirer" and the "Globe" are Pulitzer quality journalistic endeavors. The NYT is notorious for running fake and doctored pictures and made up "news" stories.
I agree that we should have laws penalizing lawyers for lying about what a law says and/or requires. Who will pass such laws? Our Senators and Representatives, a vast majority of which are lawyers? This is a good time to push for laws prohibiting lawyers from holding public office.
It is obvious that both Diebold and ES&S do not take our electoral process seriously. We need to ban their products from any and all governmental process and/or participation, present and future. This most definitely includes making campaign donations and participating in the lobbying process. Their interest is in undermining our elections and subverting for their own ends, or for the ends of their greatest funding source, our elections.
The claim that the economic growth is taking place because of a FUTURE tax is ridiculous. They would increase output before the tax kicks in, therefore, if the tax had anything to do with the output, the present output would be surging, not dropping. The "Wall Street Journal" writers are smarter than this. Who are they trying to snow? The drop is caused by a drop in demand because of their irresponsible handling of products, and allowing their food products to be tainted. One would wonder if the "tainting" of the wheat germ was simply irresponsible, or deliberate.
Wake up, dumbass!! There is no evidence that Bush ever "stole" an election. On the other hand, the Democrats have for years been registering (and voting) residents of the nations cemeteries for years. The most recently documented case was in Louisiana. More recently, they have been busy registering felons currently serving in prison, those who have forfeited their right to vote by their criminal activity. Besides, this was not about stealing an election, it was about improving the security of electronic voting machines. These companies would be wise to offer to work WITH the security experts to IMPROVE their product.
This is ALWAYS included in any significant IT structure requiring ready access for critical data. Apparently they did not believe their data was critical.
Very little is more annoying than being forced to listen to that damn Nextel walkie-talkie beep and being forced to listen to both sides of a conversation I don't give a rats ass about. For those jerks, get a life and give the rest of us a break!!!
Not surprising that their IPO would be weak. Orbitz has more to do with the airline industry, and less to do with Tech. As the airlines go, so goes Orbitz, but faster!!
All joking aside, I have made two purchases on E-Bay and was satisfied with the results. I bid on a third item and was an unsuccessful bidder. When the auction ended I was suddenly hit with a slew of emails offering the same item for my bid. Of course, they ALL turned out to be scam artists trying to trick me into paying them for an item they did not have. I offered two items for sale on E-Bay and was underwhelmed with the results (no sale). I don't waste my time on E-Bay anymore as a potential buyer OR seller.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach.

Re: MAFIAA
"I just can't wait until these losers go bankrupt or whatever. Cynical, hypocritical, the parallel to the current Bush Admin is mind boggling."
It's amazing how an asshole like you can bridge any chasm on any subject to turn it into political commentary!!
M&A
This makes sense. The bankers make money either way. I think this is called "churning".
