  Most companies have no ethics and like money. It's why "corporations are people" is fundamentally flawed. Wouldn't companies acting like greedy, narcissistic sociopaths tend to favor the legitimacy of corporations being people? Or would they have to have comb-overs and spray-on tans, as well?

  Everyone, stop thinking "common law" is always a dog-whistle from a SovCit... Maybe not a dog whistle, but it's a bit of a Pavlovian bell for the Flag button :) (Honestly, I was mousing towards the flag before I'd consciously registered that that first mention of "common law" was from Gary... hell, before I'd even consciously registered the words "common law".)

  DHS seems to be really good at finding the bad guys. The trouble is, they keep hiring said bad guys. Low-cost solution to all our problems? Find the DHS org chart and swap the "Human Resources" and "HS Investigators" headings.

  The only thing surprising about the report is that the systems weren't already crawling with malicious software ... Maybe state-sponsored hackers are just biding their time...

  Or maybe every single intruder that goes near a DoD system backs off, refusing to mess with what appears to be a laughably obvious honeypot.

  A win would be fine as long as it exposes some of the problems with FOSTA - I'm not a fan of Facebook, but I'd grudge them a victory* here (rather than indulging my thirst for schadenfreude) because they're big enough to get the case coverage in the press and they've got a damn good team of lawyers who need to start putting a few holes in the very thing they previously supported.
  
  
  * - As you mention, getting the case tossed doesn't get us anywhere: no poetic justice from a loss, no headway against FOSTA from a win.

  If I'm not mistaken, Fig. 4 is just a sketch of your run-of-the-mill D&D/Maurice Sendak crossover fetish-roleplay cam studio. Nothing even remotely new or original about that, even back in '99.
