Furthermore, just because the CPC threw in a bunch of good stuff doesn't make it a good law. We STILL came out screwed, no amount of sugar coating will change anything.
Infact, its the equivalent of placing a pile of dog shit in icing sugar and calling it edible!
Digital locks simply do not work in this day and age, all they do is add huge administrative overhead in basically every other industry that doesn't even use them!
@Mike, as a regular TD reader, I'm well aware that YOU guys previously covered it. Other people in this thread obviously are still completely unaware.
Who is stupid enough to buy Apple docks without upgradeable dock inserts in the first place?
Boohoo, my iPhone wont work in my car audio system, then you should had known better!
You guys do realize Canada just joined the dreaded TPP agreement right? It was Harper's wet dream to join the TPP as soon as possible... however....
Bill C11 will become obsolete overnight. You're missing the hidden agenda of the CPC and Hollywood, and its right up your noses! It wasn't even a day after C11 passed the HoC that Obama announced Canada could join the TPP negotiations. Its a well known fact that C11 was a prerequisite to join TPP! There is many leaks and such that acknowledge this, and a wonderful applauding from the US Chamber Of Commerce welcoming Canada to TPP. (Gee I wonder why, apparently Canada still has unresolved "issues" with IP law according to them even after C11 was passed!)
Wake up people!

Its true, the government made money off Megaupload too, so they should be liable! :D
Is the IRS going to pay back their share of the $35 million that Carpathia made from Megaupload to the rightsholders who were supposedly harmed? LOL YEAH RIGHT.
The movie industry has more of an iron grip on pricing than the ebook industry ever did, yet wheres that lawsuit?
Oh right, the bribes keep flowing and the DoJ is on their side, so its business as usual....
Which brings us back to the original intent of SOPA/PIPA.
They completely own Television, and they're out to own the Internet the same way.
As per my comment above, that fits the description of "abuse of power".
The internet is the only place for the most part that is actually reporting and protesting on this abortion of a bill. That's right, MPAA member companies news outlets are NOT reporting on it.
At the same time, the MPAA is using their 'creativeamerica' site to put full page ads in newspapers and such that spread propaganda supporting SOPA...
Gotta love their war on file-sharing, all while waging an assault on affordable legal streaming services. Cat is already out of the bag, less people are paying $30 for a blu-ray movie, and instead want cheap streaming services with new releases.
Its like they want people to go back to piracy, instead of subscribing to Netflix or whatever.
Yeah, because we all know an Align 700E Heli (no matter how modified), is a "toy helicopter".
I stand at least 20 feet away from mine the whole time the blades are spinning and for good reason.
Big Pharma also loves lumping counterfeits which can be harmful, in with cheaper generic drugs, which is why they are big SOPA supporters. Cheap generic drugs are cutting into their profit and they hate it.
What boils my blood is how they lump the physical counterfeiters of fake product that deceive the public, in with digital copyright infringement such as file sharing sites.
This way companies such as 3M and make-up/clothing companies (which have nothing to do with big content) end up supporting the MPAA and RIAA's corporate agenda.
Wow, it certainly didn't take long for the "anti-piracy" companies/leeches to jump on the whole "rogue" bandwagon in an effort to make a quick buck.
*facepalm*
Wow, lots of industry shills on here today.
I know people that pay $30 a month for good usenet access just so they can leech blu-ray rips, don't tell me they are not willing to pay for content.
Ah yes, apparently on the Internet, we are ALL "consumers". Thats what big content wants us to be.
So everyone who donated to him for his great iPhone jailbreaks will have inadvertently turned all their information over to Sony. Wonderful.
Thats exactly the point us Canadians were trying to make, yet the Harper government still passed this anti-circumvention abomination into law. The lobbyists keep spouting their propaganda about the "benefits" of TPM's.
The SCC now has a lot of work on their hands to find this bullshit unconstitutional.
Harper and his cronies wanted into the TPP so badly that we all got screwed as a result.
