    Yes, because the recording industry has teams of engineers sitting around waiting to create a whole new technology. And they all play together so well that there's no doubt that the whole industry would agree on a new format without any problems at all.

    Keep in mind he says that it's on Page 38 of his bill. That's a big bill so $10 probably isn't going to register on his radar one way or the other. I used to manage cell phone accounts for my company and we would occasionally see these types of charges. The users would claim ignorance and we'd call to get them cancelled. If I weren't reading the bills though, the $10 never would have been noticed in the $500-1000 a month we pay for our international sales reps. How many companies are paying these charges every month because they don't have someone reading the 1000 page phone bills?

    I've been in IT for long enough to say that you're full of it. In the last 6 companies I worked for in an IT capacity, ranging from 25 to 4,000 employees, IT always has something to do with the copiers. It may not be true in all companies but it's a far cry from a rarity.

    Why not write every piece of mail on a postcard instead? Are you doing something nefarious when you don't want strangers to read how proud you are of your kid's report card or how much you love your life? Desire for privacy is not exclusive to criminal activity and you know it.

    If you read your employee handbook I'll be willing to bet there's very specific information stating how they retain the right to read all Emails and there is no expectation of privacy. And of the last 6 companies that I supported as an admin, 4 of them did active/passive monitoring of all Emails. I've yet to see a company that doesn't clearly document their ownership of anything you send out via their Email.

    Internet is more of a mixed boat but it's always better to err on the side of safety and assume they're watching that too.

    He wasn't throwing a box of donuts at the cops to distract them while people sped by. He was warning them to Stop violating the law or risk getting caught. Cite him for improper use of high beams and get off your black and white high horse.

    Change the Question

    Wouldn't a better question be, "How much would you pay to elect a trusted representative that shares your views on government?" Then it's not Rep vs Dem vs Independent, it's about how much it is worth to you to actually have a voice that you can trust. I'm willing to bet that number would be a lot higher than $0 for most people. I know "my party" got their senator elected again this year but he certainly doesn't represent my views.

    Like most flawed surveys the researchers are left drawing invalid conclusions because of a poor survey technique.

    It I go onto my local TV provider (Cox) and tell them I want to watch Episode 3, Season 3 of Family Guy at 6:37PM on Wednesday, December 8th, am I going to see it? Probably not, no matter what channel I turn into because it's being Broadcast. On the other hand, if I go to NetFlix and pick that same episode at the same time, I get to watch it because I'm requesting the specific content.

    I'm curious Darryl, why are you so adamant that there can't possibly be any distinction made between the technologies? What's your pony in this race to try and convince everyone that Canada is 100% correct?
