    But the Theater Experience Sucks

I go to the movies a lot. For years, my daughter and I have set aside Sunday as Movie Day. We alternate who gets to pick the movie and we go. While we don't hit every single Sunday, I'd say we easily hit 40-45 movies per year. And at this point, if I could get new releases on DVD as soon as they are available in the theater, I'd never go to a theater again.

I don't mind the price of admission. But add in another $20.00 for a couple of soda and some cold popcorn, people talking in the theater, texting, using cell phones, the absolute rudeness of the people who work in the theater, etc and it's getting less and less fun every time I go.

So why continue? Because we want to see the movies when they come out. Maybe the industry is doing this right from their point of view. Maybe they know that if people can just buy the DVD on release day, their theater revenue would dry up overnight because of the sucky experience.

    Give 'em a chance

I too have noticed this but I've noticed something else. It's usually self correcting. I signed up for FourSquare and must have hit the publish to Twitter button without realizing it. The next day, I started checking into places and noticed that they were all these checkins were going to Twitter. So I turned it off, sent a tween apologizing to followers, and that was that.

I've noticed a couple of people that I follow do the same thing, I usually give them a day or two before I unfollow, but I haven't seen anyone that I follow keep it up for more than a day or two.

The disclaimer at the bottom says "This is not a solicitation for monetary funds." Thinking this is not for real.

Re: Forget the lawsuit, jail these people.

This is one of the reasons we home school. Not because something like this specific incident happened, just because the education system in this country is broken and you can never be surprised at what school officials will do.

    Awesome Stuff

Mike, this is great stuff. As you said, not really anything different from what you've been saying all along, but its nice to have it all in one place. I'm an aspiring musician myself (1st CD should be release in the next month or so) and after reading this I'm just saying to myself "embrace this".

I'm already doing some of the stuff (free music, CD will be released under creative commons, working on some t-shirt designs) but this post has some other great stuff, not to copy, but to use as a springboard for other ways to connect.

    Thanks much...
