Libertarian hokum can often seem counter-intuitive, but that doesn't mean that you can't read a CATO institute study, or an article at Reason.com and convince yourself otherwise.
See Mike. This comment is precisely the problem with your readership.
Half your readers appear to be these arrogant millennial college brats, like the above poster, who clearly doesn't even know what the term 'schadenfreude' is or means.
Ugh....I'm sorry but it's not my job to intellectualize your readership up to my level and I simply refuse to even engage this guy any further.
Sven you make a lot of sense! This actually has become quite popular around the Internet, specifically with certain YouTube channels which insiders want promoted ahead of channels they don't approve of...
This completely artificial circus plays out in the following manner:
- Typically the owner of the channel has an 'in' with the YouTube and/or Google staff in order to set this up.
- Then while 'defending' the scummy trash at Google/YouTube/Alphabet they are "removed" as violating terms of service.
- Then their gullible users become outraged, miraculously, a day or two later, Google, apologizes and puts the back the content.
-The gullible fans of that channel forget all about the larger philosophical issues and/or initial issue.
Since the coordinated deplatforming of Alex Jones. I've seen this play out on three separate YouTube channels, which I won't name because I refuse to give them the traffic they so desperately want.
Anyone who has ever had a question or issue with a Google service or company knows that this is not how Google works. Google staff will never respond directly to users of its services which have issues. Instead they a "community" driven shit show in which other users attempt to explain or help fellow users.
Mike got a bitter taste of his own medicine.
Just ignore that do-nothing Ellsworth Toohey! Takers always blame everyone else and are jealous of other people's hard earned wealth.
These people will never accomplish even a tiny fraction of the miraculous achievements Stephenson has. Here are just a few accomplishments:
1. He mentored Mexico's Billionaire Carlos Slim, while working at SBC telecom
2. He was appointed by President Bush (A hero, patriot, and fellow business success story) as National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.
3. Stephenson was named the 2016 CEO of the Year by Chief Executive magazine.
By all objective measures, Stephenson is one of the greatest unsung heroes of our time.
How did the pilgrims survive?
Most of them died.
However, the larger point you are missing, is that the author had an app and a phone was working perfectly fine.
Then out of nowhere, without recourse, she was told "Nope! Girl you need to upgrade to another $1000 phone before you will allowed to use our shitty H1B coded Airline app."
Naturally, she was upset.
Arguments to the effect of "In my day if you wanted to use a phone you had to go to the segregated whites only General Store and pay 5 cents at the counter" are fun little tales but sadly miss the point entirely.
Not only did you decide to attack the wrong company in your comment, your comment is nonsense even if you had targeted the correct one!
Now that Steve Jobs is dead, there is very little difference between the two companies, and is exactly why they can be used interchangeably.
Both companies employee a small, delusional self important teams which come up with use cases, user interfaces, and entire ecosystems out of thin air, with little to nothing to do with how people actually use or want to use their products.
>"What about other phone and OS manufacturers, are they all like this or is there one you approve of?"
Grrrrrrl Please! Like what?! Ubuntu Phones? Windows OS? You are seriously delusional, or perhaps you are experiencing a Mandela Effect.
Paul are you really this dense? Here you go, don't say I never gave you anything...
> "It is somewhat strange that the download does not warn you about needing to upgrade"
How is that strange? Did the Emperor of India announce to the Dalit slaves that they would be building the Taj Mahal?
Google employees are much too important to be bothered with such things. Sundar Pichai is like a God. A God doesn't speak to mortals directly. If you have questions perhaps you can channel his spirit through one of his emissaries at the Google customer self-service portals.
"It is somewhat strange that the download does not warn you about needing to upgrade"
How is that strange? Did the Pharaoh announce to the slaves they would be building his pyramid?
Apple employees are much too important to be bothered with such things. When they want you to know something, they will announce it at their annual cult meeting.
Press? What Press? They are too busy 'RESIST'-ing Trump, pattering on about Russia, talking to porn stars, and making serious looking faces of concern.
Maybe the jobs they promised happened in India?
...that these are legitimate court rulings, and instead start calling it what it actually is....corruption.
Now I am perfectly capable of believing that a large percentage of these judges making absurd rulings on technology issues are simply senile and/or incompetent.
However, at some point, it's time to realize that this isn't an actual legitimate legal ruling, and is instead just a corrupt judge. In a society which wasn't sick, like our own, a ruling like this would trigger a corruption probe, followed by jail.
Just stop pretending! Face facts!
Clearly you have a reading comprehension problem.
You can agree with someone concerning the problem and disagree concerning the solution.
My only criticism, if you can call it that, is that the while the author correctly identifies the issues, she refuses to explicitly state the broken philosophical and economic ideas which led to these issues in the first place.
...to try and deny us this delectable schadenfreude.
"AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson's Pay Inched Up 1% In 2017 To $28.7 Million."
...and he's worth every penny. Through his leadership, AT&T has become a net innovator bringing us endless technological miracles.
Quit being so ungrateful and jealous.
"the Laws are interesting in the USA"
It's always been important for corrupt societies to keep up appearances:
Japanese "Scientific" Whaling Fleets
Soros "Open Society" Foundation
Bush's Iraq and the CIA Tales of Nigerian Yellow Cake

Wow, I was about to sarcastically say "thank you gramps!" when I realized I had become entangled in a recursive trolling error.
Apparently, the same logic making fun of old iconoclastic technophobes, such as yourself, can be applied to the author with such retorts as:
"Quit living in the past! Just get a new phone!"
Still, I wonder, given the complete lack of logical reasoning skills in most of the readership here, would anyone actually notice?
oh also, your link doesn't work... : (
