In 2001 MP3.com was shut down shortly after the so-called owner sold MP3.com for 25 million, peanuts compared to f b 's 50bn. The music industry was crying about piracy and so they bought off MP3.com. Said it was a file sharing problem , well, Napster survived MP3.com did not.
