"Random Americans are one thing, but that politicians increasingly don’t know what’s true and what isn’t — seems like kind of a problem."
Its cute how you think politicians are somehow better than regular people. And sad.
Although unable to review the Snapchat video, the dean of C.C-S.’s school told the school security officer that C.C-S. had a history of “bringing things to school that he shouldn’t, such as drugs and things like that.”
If the kid has a history of bringing in drugs, why is he still in school?
I agree with the court turning down the Anti-SLAPP motion, not because I think Mitchell has a chance in hell of winning, but because I think the court wants to get it over with and let Mitchell look like the fool he is in public court.
Think about it; the court upholds the Anti-SLAPP motion, Mitchell comes back later with another lawsuit. Court denies the motion, forces Mitchell to appear in court where he will clown himself. He loses with prejudice and never shows his ugly mug, haircut, and tie again.
If the reason Only Fans was trying to "go legit" was because their payment processors were getting itchy, then why did Only Fans back off and nothing happened with their payment processors?
In other words, was the payment processors really the reason?
Do these people not have a calendar? Not have Outlook remind them? Seriously, its like remembering your anniversary; its on your dumbass if you forget to set up reminders.
As bad as the CCP is, lets not kid ourselves that the Chinese people are just itching for real democracy. China's history is basically warlords. kings, emperors, etc, with the CCP just the latest in a long line of totalitarians.
HK may be different in that it had a few generations of relatively benign British rule, but its gone and it ain't coming back.
The scene: FBI office with agent, owner, and a box full money.
Agent: all you have to do to get your money back is identify it.
Owner: great. thank you for making this so easy.
Agent: opens box, pulls out a 20 and says "can you identify this bill"
Owner: thats a 20 dollar bill. Its mine.
Agent: do you know the serial number? If you can confirm the serial number, you can claim it.
Owner: what?
Agent; gestures to box and says "only 2849 bills to go"
I grew up in Lexington, left in 83 to join the Air Force. Never went back. I did not know Lawrence Weathers was the Chief of Police until now. I went to high school with him. We were in the same home room. Never pegged him for a future cop.
Another thing to do requires a bit of luck and timing, but you could drop said phone near an "incident". The police/FBI pick it up and think its the perps. Perp of course denies its his phone, which of course means it is his phone. Fun ensues.
NSA and other agencies could place people on the inside who worked directly for them. That Apple engineer who developed the code for iOS 9? Really works for the NSA; Apple is his side job.
Its cute that people still assume that the FBI really did hack into the phone, given that they have neither revealed what they found or how they did it. I think its very likely they're just liars.
Politicians *are* random Americans

You were too nice
I would have told them to pound sand, kiss my ass, and get fucked.
"The companies are probably not doing this with the explicit intent to stifle Tibetan and Uyghur cultures."
Bullshit. Nothing happens on this level in China without government mandate.
Huh?

Hopefully, Mx Oettinger was smart enough to distribute the file before the gov forced her to take it down.
I see this differently than Techdirt

Its 4D judicial chess.
Not sure about Only Fans real reasons

Re: what a shame
what a shame you couldn't just print it out and then use a black highlighter on the offending text.
CCP will fix this
Not that hard to fix the workarounds. Simply limit everyone - adult or kid - to one hour a night of gaming.
Chicago Gun Crime
Know what else is mostly useless in fighting gun crime in Chicago?
The Chicago PD and City Government.
FBI will still play games with the guy

Government involvement is a concern
I'm sure that when the us.gov flags a post Facebook treats it the same as when Joe Smith flags one. Right?

Re: Re: and a possibly fractured penis
Actually, fractured penis is a thing. And it sounds awful. Rather have a fractured pelvic.

And did they say yes?
“Yes,” Weiss replied. “He’s the leader of the free world.”
Benioff added: “When the commander-in-chief says, ‘I want to see advanced episodes,’ what are you gonna do?”
You tell him to fuck off and watch it on HBO like every one else. He's not the King. Yet.
Even more likely
