...well not quite 100% free of molestation. You still have the opportunity to "interact" with these dedicated civil servants if you are within 100 miles of any US border, and in some cities where they "protect" mass transit. Oh! Please do not forget the NYPD and other police forces that have chosen to "SWAT" up with federal anti terrorism dollars. I am Canadian and find any travel to or within the US has become "unfriendly" to guests. So yes, the terrorists have won easily.
I am surprised that you seem not to believe that Canada has been a big "partner" of the NSA mass surveillance blitz. I will be money that Vic Towes and his boss, our Prime Minister, Steven harper (SIC) have already sold our privacy sovereignty to the NSA. (Take a look at the location of the undersea cables heading over to Europe if you have any doubts) I patiently await additional details of the unlubricated NSA penetration of all Canadians. BTW, most of our data resides on US based servers anyway.
It is interesting how "fiction" eventually becomes closer to our reality. In 1987, an episode of Star Trek (TNG) had a storyline of a planet where all infractions of the established laws were punishable by death.
I am unsure that Microsoft has any moral ground to stand on here if the reports are true that they have been feeding Zero Day exploits to the NSA (and others).
One has to wonder back to the story of the US government asking their operatives to get personal info on all foreign diplomats (including cell phone numbers). The recent news that the UK government spied on foreign diplomat's cell phone calls it begs the question....
My wife has been battling with Bell Canada over a mobile phone "contract" that was all arranged over the phone over a year ago. The calls (we were told) were recorded "for quality assurance purposes". When the bills started coming in, the charges were far and away from what was agreed to. After a year of "battle", the federal ombudsman's office got involved and guess what? The multiple recordings were not available due to some explainable technical problem. Seems fair to me that if there is no record then there is no contract. BTW, we never had a problem for over 30 years with any of our accounts until we "bundled" our services.
For Honda to complain about an informed consumer is absolutely short sited. Honda gets their fixed base price on every sale and that is not negotiable for the dealer or the customer. The greatest profit a car dealer will make beyond the initial sale is on service. Corporations need to change their business models to be more customer centric or they will fail.

The flag in the picture belongs to Nova Scotia, Canada. :-)
Thank you!
I have just installed Ubuntu and did not know about this privacy issue. Please convey my thanks to Canonical for the heads up. :-)

FEMA should work with them then. Not threaten them. FEMA is wrong in their arrogance.
Insider Threat Program defeat?
"according to a senior intelligence official."
Most interesting is the above "source". Seems to make a timely mockery of Obama's "See Something, Say Something" program.
Re:
John Steele reportedly only uploads porn... You would have to confirm that with the NSA though.

Maybe someone should fly over the KTVU station, take pictures and then post them online...
Re: Any Crime, One Punishment
The included URL must be copied and pasted for it to work. Seems the URL parser does not like the open parentheses.
If the FISA order is not renewed how would Verizon replace the significant revenue stream they receive for being a "partner" in all of this?

Who knows about this secret DOD "Shift-Delete" mechanism to remove web content. Maybe the MPAA should use this feature?
