    Re: nanos gigantum humeris insidentes

Very true. I am writing fiction in an attempt to create manga with some friends. Although it's not necessarily community knowledge for the advancement of society, I still know that I'm drawing a lot of my ideas from my personal experiences and the anime and manga that I've seen and read in my life.

I've learned how to tie up endings and how to create suspense. I've learned what some would say is the formula to progressing certain aspects of characters using similar devices from other works of fiction. If authors and publishers lock down those devices/formulas, then I'm sure I'd come up with new ways to accomplish those tasks; however, there would be a lot of failures before hitting on something that was sure to entertain or maybe even make sense.

What nice fresh music? Granted, I'm not big on US music, but I do own a radio and I haven't heard _anything_ nice or fresh coming out of US radio stations. It's all real garbage. Same back beats and same melodies recycled a billion times with nothing new. What is nice and fresh about that?

Disclaimer: I grew up in the 80's and 90's when music was changing constantly, and it's really seemed to stagnate as far as I'm concerned, for the types of music that I enjoy.

Re: Its all about the income

Wow, FOB? That's a pretty offensive macro insult. I've seen people shanked over being called that; however, the rest of your point wasn't too terrible.

    Re:

Maybe not for the most part, but in my experience it is a large part. I have several relatives and consult for many other people that use apps to download a mix of HD and SD content regularly, who have no concept of bandwidth at all. To them it all boils down to is it downloading fast? That's all they can equate to bandwidth lol. Explaining it helps in some cases but in others it's a lost cause. =-(

The problem is that HD to (at least the users I deal with) means 'better picture' for their HD TV, so they of course want HD content that utilizes their tv in a way that appears to get the most bang for their buck. So of course, they download the HD content and follow whatever instructions they've found on google to stream it (if they are a console gamer) or to burn it.

It's important to remember that the same people that do relatively complex things following a set of instructions often can only do that particular thing because they have the instructions. If something goes wrong, they are totally lost. They don't actually understand what is happening.
