Surrounding someone in a threatening and dangerous manner? Damn straight it'd be ok.
If they're dodging in and out of traffic, stopping in front of a vehicle on a street, they're making a hazardous and intimidating situation. Did you not see why the car stopped 30 seconds into the video? That they surrounded and gang pressed him into it taking advantage of the fact that he DIDN'T want to run any of them over?
Holy shit you're a imbecile.
In the old days they didn't have problems of scale like this. Games are getting so big that you can't properly test them in Beta.
It's like EA is taking it's cues from our modern stock market gambling model, and Rockstar is just running a good company...
Of course, IANAL (as is probably obvious), so I don't know any case precedent or anything like that. I'm just going off of surface appearances to the layman.
Defamation and libel are both suit worthy in American courts. I can't see how she's not guilty of both in accusing him of doing the hacking when he's simply reporting on it, and not recanting when the truth is brought to light. It's straight unfounded character assassination on her part, and uncalled for.
If they don't have enough manpower or resources to do it, how can they expect the average American to follow said laws when we've got other stuff we're doing?
We're all individually expected to adhere to the laws that they don't have enough manpower to figure out.
Ethics is not the same as "follow every rule given to me by my superiors"
I can see how you'd get that confused, though.
"Because money" is the answer to most of what Congress does.
The "base game" has a complete story that's cohesive and complete. The DLC are additional stories that you can play through, and not required to enjoy the base story.
You of course don't care about that distinction. You probably also think that Tolkein was a scheming bastard because he wrote 4 separate books, instead of one "whole" one.
Mechromancer is only for people who preordered. Otherwise she's a $10 DLC.
Still 4 classes in the base game. 2 additional classes you can purchase if you want.
Being Borderlands 2 is a game I play quite a bit, I have a strong opinion here:
BL2 is done. The base game has a very complete story, TONS of costumes and heads, all included, and they keep it updated and well patched. The DLC for Borderlands 2 is just that... extra content you can download. More characters with new skills and play styles, more areas and stories to play. Nothing required to enjoy the base game. There's no requirement to get it, not even to play with other people who do have the various other characters and costumes and such.
There are many companies that do DLC to nickle and dime you to a complete game. Gearbox and BL2 are not an instance of that.
The proper recourse is to sue the party that took the video. Once it's out, it's out. Cats and bags and such.
Isn't this all just the parable of the boy who cried wolf in action?
It exists: http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/support/savant-elite-manual.pdf
There's only so much the schools can do when the parents don't care. There's a social stigma against learning and intelligence any more, no encouragement to better yourself, so it doesn't happen. It's easier to sit you kid in front of the TV or XBox instead of reading to them and with them.
That's kind of the point... the power rests ENTIRELY on prosecutorial discretion, and that they can easily push for asinine punishment if they feel like it.
The DOJ is at fault because they're playing favorites, the laws don't apply equally to all people. There's no "devil's advocate" to be had in those situations.
Wait... you think people won't create without direct monetary compensation? Then why did you write your post just now, without being paid?
Copyright, as it is, has very little benefit to society as a whole. I can see arguing for a very limited copyright, but the current system of life + 70 years plus whatever Congress decides to tack on whenever Mickey comes back up for public domain again is completely untenable.
Everyone is a criminal. It shifts the power of enforcement and judgement completely to the executive branch of the government because they can decide whether or not to prosecute depending on whether you play ball, and they can throw the book at anyone, no matter how specious because there are laws against everything someone might do. We're already seeing that with things like the Bradley Manning case and Aaron Swartz:

That's blaming the victim. It's not because "bikers". He's not in the wrong when he has a very legitimate (as was proven by the subsequent beating) fear for himself and his passengers. He had the right to protect himself from a gang surrounding and stopping him in the middle of a city street.
