  Wahaha noooo. Discrediting witnesses by dragging out stupid little ancient things is for the prosecution. The defense shall not be allowed to show the discredit of witnesses for the prosecution with actual facts about egregious and ongoing behaviors of LEOs who, one might add, would probably be tazed and beaten, arrested, and serving time (if they survived), by said LEOs, if they were not LEOs themselves.

  It probably happens incidentally, but not so much purpose-driven on a political axis. But it only takes one "liberal" to do it to a "conservative" so those interested in "justifications" can retrofit it to justify history.

  No, it is not a tower. It's a mobile tower spoofer. Of course they have less range, but they have them just where they need to be. You wouldn't need a special detector to find a mysterious cell tower un-owned by any known telco. (But then some people would probably also be claiming it is a super-seekrit HAARP expansion. No tinfoil, please!)

  All they would have had to have done was to download a copy of the cheat engine he was offering at any point in his long abuse of the game and youtube-ing. That mayyyyy have given some small indication of what code needs fixing. As if this kid is the only one with a method to cheat...
  
  Certainly, some things are much harder to prevent (or patch) than others, and personally, i think there is a lot of value in games that are easily and/or intentionally mod-able. But if you are a big company, you should definitely have the resources to keep cheats and mods out of the official main game servers. Strange thing is, multiplayer games with mods running on their own fan community servers seem to do OK with kicking off those not abiding by the social contract of that community.
  
  I have sympathy for neither this 14yo wanker nor Epic's stupid behavior. And if one really must sue someone to cease and desist, or for some sort of real damages, there are better avenues to do that than by distorting copyright law beyond recognition and then having that become the new standard when some equally stupid court allows it.

  I think the posts here are written from the point of view of facts and outcomes. Opinions on matters are obviously stated as well. I don't see any personal opinions on the FB behavior in question at all.
  
  The title is obvious, the above conclusion regarding the title in not, whatsoever. Techdirt writers may disagree with FB operations (or any number of things), but it is not their job to loudly proclaim such in every article mentioning FB (or whatever) to someone's satisfaction. What is going against and for FB in the suit so far is exactly what the article is about. Would one who is concerned about FB choose to ignore what is going in FB's favor for some reason? That seems exactly counterproductive to the to the position in AC's comment.
