We have an oven (!) that showed up on our wi-fi and I couldn't figure out why. So I did some research on how to turn it off. It wasn't easy!
Before you buy any house appliance, make sure it is not set up for wi-fi by the installer or set up controls on your phone with an app. If you are comfortable with being spied on, don't bother. But do think about who is watching you and why.
Magical thinking is a coping skill. Being immersed in reality all the time is just too much, so various distractions like religion and entertainment have been tried and true outlets for centuries. But like pearls produced by oysters, confronting reality has also led to explosions of creativity and additions to philosophical and theological revelations over time. The one thing that separates our present day from other times is a vast industry devoted to our distraction that has replaced individual creative distraction. The things we are often fed lead to a need that becomes habitual. The distraction alone becomes part of everyday experience. I know because I realize this in myself.
It is not necessary to become alarmed at what is happening to us because when we enter the social realm we always give up part of ourselves. Better to strive to be fully yourself - don't live to please anyone else but do give others the dignity they deserve. This is when individuals can become a mighty force.

I think it's Rotarians. Rosarians could refer to Catholics, I guess.
