    Dell should have to sell the monitors at the price they listed, and this guy should have to pay. It's a contract, once I agree to pay and you agree to sell you shouldn't be allowed to say later that you have changed your mind. We agreed to a price, if your price was a mistake you should have said something on or before the time of sale.

    MS is not stopping them from using Win7 home on netbooks

    They are just charging the same amount for it as tey do for any PC or laptop. Because starter is cheap they put it on the netbooks to keep the price down. The netbook guys could but home (Or above) on it no problem, but they don't so that they are cheap. I have win7 home running on both of my netbooks no problem, thanks MSDN...

    No fear of linux

    Unless you want to game or run most comercial software or install new hardware. There are alternatives for most software stuff like office and photoshop but I have not found them to be as robust over all. However unless you are buying a machine with Linux/BSD/etc on it you are going to find issues with driver support. Any new hardware you buy also might cause you issues (Although most stuff like keyboard, mice, monitors, thumb drives, etc) work great right out the box, a new NIC, sound, video, etc you should be careful that there are drivers available.

    I say no.....

    I say 'no they shouldn't be allowed to spend time together outside of work'. Why not, these people honestly have done their best to twist the legal system and screw the public for decades now. They have made the legal system so complicated that no one can defend themselves and they make it so expensive to get professional help that the inocent end up in jail because they can't afford someone to really defend them.

    I hate lawyers, they force the letter of the law down our throat whiel ingoring the spirit. If people in families treated each other the way the legal system treats non-lawyers there would ge a lot fewer families. Maybe if we make Lawyers and Judges into Social Pariah we can drive them out of existance.

    Oh I hope they go after everyone

    I think it would be great if someone in the DAs office went after everyone that had the paper. Have arrested every single person at the paper and all the people that handle getting to the stands, those that run the stands, and all the site operators that used the photo.

    I am not suggesting they should go to jail, but nothing like having 1.5million people charged with a crime for getting the news paper to make people think twice about the law.

    Nazi's where not the tech friendly

    It's a misreading of history that leads people to believe that the Nazi's where huge friends of science. It turns out that the Nazi's spent less as a % of GDP on Science than Germany did before they took over, and that many of the high tech wonders the Germans used in WWII where invented dispite the Nazi govt not because of it.

    The Nazi ideal in fact had little to do with Tech, looking down on the brainy science guys of the world and holding up as the uber-human those that worked hard with their hands. Posters of the day show young german men working hard in rolling fields with hand tools (No tractors or mechanical equipment) or men with shovles and picks working on new roads or other contrution projects.

    I find the references people make to the Nazi govt of Germany as sick, but even more than that I find that most times they are just wrong. The fundimental misunderstanding of what happened in WWII is a sad state that leaves me with fear about our future.

    I don't play MMOs, but I used to play MUDs. If someone had taken my user account and stolen my character I would have felt like I had been robed.

    Extortion?

    I would think that if you threaten to sue someone if they don't do X, and they refuse you would have to sue or it would be extortion.

    You are using the legal systems costs as a weapon to get people to give you money. If you don't sue you obviously didn't have a case, which makes it extortion (according to the dictionary).

    VA more or less says, Any person who accuses another of any offense, and thereby extorts money, is guilty of a Class 5 felony. "


    VA Law:
    § 18.2-59. Extortion of money, property or pecuniary benefit.

    Any person who (i) threatens injury to the character, person, or property of another person, (ii) accuses him of any offense, (iii) threatens to report him as being illegally present in the United States, or (iv) knowingly destroys, conceals, removes, confiscates, withholds or threatens to withhold, or possesses any actual or purported passport or other immigration document, or any other actual or purported government identification document, of another person, and thereby extorts money, property, or pecuniary benefit or any note, bond, or other evidence of debt from him or any other person, is guilty of a Class 5 felony.

    Remember how the content owners killed it because they had all the power and would just stop it from putting content up on it? Remember?

    Hulu has the power here, even if it's owned by the content guys. They are not so dumb as to think that a company making money for them should be shut down. If they are, it will quickly be replaced with something they can't control.

    Google sues for IP a lot...

    For a company that doesn't care about IP. I just didn't a quick google search for 'google sues' and found dozens of suits filed by google over use of there IP and trademarks.


    As to MS killing Netscape. Anyone that was around using the web at the time knows what killed Netscape. Netscape died because Netscape 4 sucked so bad no one was willing to use it. IE 4 however was twice as fast, loaded faster, loaded pages faster. (Please keep in mind that at this point both IE and Netscape where free to the public). If it had just been giving the browser away that had killed Netscape why didn't it die when IE 3.5 came out, it was free to download and Netscape you still had to pay for. Why? Because IE 3.5 sucked and Netscape that the only product worth using. (I mean what where you going to use Lynx?)

    There is 100% no reason to MOD the 360 unless you want to cheat or play pirated games. Maybe your not a gamer and don't care, but the rest of us that do what those assholes off our network and are happy MS did it.

    BTW, if you reset you 360 with a clean drive image it works fine for everything except getting back onto xbox live. These people knew they where breaking the rules, it's like speeding on a public road, you break the rules and get caught you get in trouble. If you speed enough and break enough rules they will take your right to drive away, and something take your care away. You owned the car, but you have shown that you shouldn't have it.

    My guess is that William here MODs his equipment that then uses it to cheat and now has sand in his crotch over getting in trouble for being a lame asshole to everyone that wants to just have fun and play some games.

    Xbox cut off takes a gamer to understand

    If you think for a minute that those that MOD their xbox are doing it so they can run some home brew game then you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to gaming.

    Those that MOD a concoul do it for either a)Cheating in games, b)Using pirated games, or C) Both. There is almost zero other reasons for doing it.

    I am sure that a half dozen people will scream out about how they use it for a Media center or any number of other things. These people are either liars (Cause the stuff other than cheat and play pirated games with a 360 could be done cheaper with equipment designed for it) or are to stupid for their own good (They bought an 360 instead of a PC or a TIVO for the same price to do a worst job).

    When you buy a game for the 360 you are paying to play a game without cheaters. MS has a responcibility to remove those that cheat from the game servers and it's good they do.

    Lets try and look at the real cause for stuff before we publish stuff like this in the future please. MS didn't kill 360's, they just kicked them off xbox live. If they want to get back, just get an un-MOD'ed machine and try again. They want to play on their MOD machine, they can do it at home off xbox live.

    People just don't get it...

    I hear people complain about the NRA all the time, but the NRA only have a million memebers. It would be so easy for 2 million gun hates to just sign up and put them out of business. I feel like of the same way about the RIAA and the major labels. If you don't like them so much (And I hate them) then stop buying their stuff, don't pirate it because it makes them think they could be making money. If for only 1 year, half of those that buy music didn't. Most of the labels would go out of business and we could start over with people that don't suck. Stop getting pissed off and start doing something, Or in this case stop doing something. Just go to a few more concerts, by a few more t-shirt and gets a few more free legal MP3s off the web, you will get over the year without new music from the labels. Trust me there is lots of great stuff out there.

    As long a they don't have a slame on the brakes remote feature it should never be a problem. I am pretty sure most people have had a flat, or there car stall, or whatever while driving along. 99.9999% of the time this causes no problems (Other than for those in the now non-working car) as they just pull over and it's done.

    It could cause a person problems if someone hacks it and starts disabling cars for no reason, but not really a safty issues.

    Really this comes down to banks lying to there customers. They have taken this law that requires them to clear checks quickly and instead of following it they just redefined what 'cleared' means. It's crap and they should be sued for it. You shouldn't be allowed to re-define what are word means just to get around a law.

    Personally I think that banks should have to eat the costs of ever check they call cleared that isn't. They shouldn't tell you it is if it isn't. And don't tell me that it's a problem with technology, otherwise the Ukrops around the corner wouldn't be able to clear the money from my checking (Using a physical check) while I was standing in line and then give me the voided check back before I leave the store.
