Why would a movie theater have to pay a fine for searching its' customers, when you fly anywhere from just about any airport in the world, they check all your luggage, all your carry-on, they pat down your body (if you fail the metal detector), or even use full body scanners (in about 6 airports around the US)to basically see through your clothes. I really think the article is either missing some vital information, or there was a lot of fraud going on with whatever judge made the ruling, I'm sure if they take it to a higher court it would get overruled no problem.
I think just about everyone realizes that this whole article is just making fun of a figure of speach used incorrectly, it's obvious what they were trying to say is that video games should have easier access to parental controlls than what the few consoles have now.
I can't believe this actually got posted, and people are taking it seriousley, I'm disappointed...
Hey, if she's ashamed of being fat why not do something about it, other than suing people so she can afford a lipo-suction. I swear, fat people now'a'days are getting more and more honery, why not jpend more time walking instead of sitting in court, who knows she just might gain some dignity and quit complaining.
That's sad seing Fat Basterds trying to make money off of other peoples work. If I was in nokia's shoes I'd hire hit-men to take care of everyone involved in the lawsuit, and then get the lucky charms bandit to take care of their families... Maybe do something with their pets as well... :D
What I don't get is why the internet companies don't make friends with the power industry. The technology is already there to use the power cables in your house for networking, what's stopping people from using those same cables for internet access.
While I'm not an electrician, it seems that power cables have already been installed just about everywhere (in the United States at least), and from simple observations power cables are on average a good 4 or 5 times thicker than the coaxial ones, which offer data transfer rates of over 150 MB/s.
So basically, if the ISP's team up with the power company, they could easily get rid of the need to install more lines, and put an end to capping bandwidth.
Or would that just be too simple...
If you really put your mind to it, you could just hook your computer up to some tasers and just have it randomly taze you in controlled intervals:D jk, exercise shouldn't be something you dread doing go to the gym and find a friend to work out with ya so you won't have to worry about any power surges fo'shizle people.
It almost seems like a waste for Comcast to "shape" traffic counting that anyone who really cares to can just download additional software to get around it. All they wind up doing is making their customers feel like they're being ripped off by Comcast for not giving them the full services they paid for. It's like living in a free country, yet not being able to leave your home.
People are imbicils, how hard would it be to walk and chew gum at the same time..? about as hard as driving and talking on your phone, and just because some of us don't have the mental capacity for it, is no reason to punish everyone. A lot more people get injured from drowsey driving than from talking on their phones, so why doesn't the government make laws enforcing people to drink Coffee before going to church on sundays... I swear, at the rate the legal system's going, we'll wind up living like the people in "Demolition Man" in no time
So I'm sure a majority of you have heard about plans to increase the bandwidth of local broadband / fiber providers. I'm sure once that happens all the DSL users who pay an arm and a leg for their regular phone service, and brag that they pay a whopping $10/month less than you for internet access which is only 4 times slower than yours, will finally come to realize that they would be getting a much greater bundle if they were to finally abandon Quest/whoever and sign up for "Real" High Speed internet access and VOIP, and well, since Vonage is about the only VOIP company that actually takes the effort to advertise, the chances are it'll be safe for quite some time to come ;)
Alright, so maybe I didn't actually check out Steorn's site (www.steorn.com) , as I'm sure about half the people here didn't, but even at that, if you got hydrogen to say, move a rare earth magnet through a coil in like a vaccuum, or a system with little resistance to create a change in flux over time, it seems like it would be potentially possible for the coil to provide a greater Voltage than that used to create the hydrogen...
It seems as though everything is to some extent "conditional" and while the laws of Thermodynamics have held true for mechanics, it is not necessarily the case for chemical reactions...
Man, all these people with all their "Scientific Facts" of why you can't get more energy out of hydrogen than it takes to create the Hydrogen, especially liked the one with the modified laws of thermodynamics, and shit flowing down hill.
You guys are great, but you got to learn to think outside the box, the world really isn't flat, nor does it rest on the back of a turtle, with "turtles all the way down".
I'm no geek, not even a nerd, but it really seems like you could put together a system of alternators that could start a reaction to get Hydrogen out of water and then burn the hydrogen to create more energy than was needed to produce the reaction...
I agree that cold fusion seems kind of far-fetched, but I've heard of "un-confirmed" experiments where scientists made vehicles that produced their own hydrogen from water, one of which supposedly made it from California to New York on a little under 30 galons, then after searching our favorite search engine, google, for more information about the idea, it really seems to be realistic, and would fit in with the title of the article.

See it now
I can see it now, tomorrows' paper: " Guy gets 5 more months in jail for pirating windows. Microsoft is outraged, and is seeking the death penalty"
