tivo series 6 and te3 is the end

i've enjoyed tivo since series1. ive upgraded them with ethernet and wifi before those were built in. ive enjoyed it up until early 2020 - no more cable card, no more cable, i stream now to roku and still run pytivo (upgraded to python3 by itsayellow). i am done with tivo due to te4 (tivo experience four / hydra). tivo ruined the user interface with te4/hydra. ive owned series1, series2, series3, series3 thx, roamio and bolt+vox.

so now i have a bolt+vox and when that dies that will be the end of tivo. it was an impressive run up to about 2017. after that time tivo has become a burned out shell husk empty company with nothing to offer and it has been sold to nasty people.

ive never seen a company burn so much good will as tivo. sad.

Mark Shuttleworth is a toxic destroyer

    upstart - junk
    mir - stupid
    juju - stinks
openstack from canonical repos - brokenstack, broken beyond belief
Ubuntu LTS - 12.04 has had THREE kernels, 3.2, 3.5, 3.8. And to top it off, not bringing in 3.10, the actually decent one of the bunch.

Mark is a dolt, a destroyer, a fragmenter and a scum.

Google helps scary authoritarian autocratic govern

    The simple facts are:

    1)
Brin and Page have had an argument over where beds are to be situated in their party boy private Boeing 767. They claim to be green and drive Prius , but they can blow 20,000 gallons of JetA on a soirée.

    2)
They have generated this wealth in part helping a large scary autocracy suppress protests and information and people en masse (Falun Gong, Dissidents, etc). That government is Hu Jintao's/Wen Jibbao's China. You can act green and have love for the worlds people and prop up an autocracy (arguable while making money in an emerging authoritarian autocracy, the former USA). Google has had a hand in killing and imprisoning people whose crimes are not even crimes in the USA, in fact, there are laws in place against assisting governments persecuting people - these clearly aren't enforced.

I only hope someone can start deflating the Google bubble. If this is the best thing to happen in the USA in the last 6-7 years, prepare for the end of American hegemony.
