Oooh! I like your definition better! I'll share that one next time playing cards at Mom's!
I'm southern, and we say 'bless you/his/her heart' a lot. The best translation for 'bless your heart' that I've heard is my mom's; "you poor idiot!" So, as for this so-called governor, yes, bless his heart and the heart of anyone that would accept his explanations. Mc
This is our information and needs to be controlled accordingly. I'm all for locking whoever mishandles information this way, especially if it's classified. I guess I would never make a good partisan, because I don't throw my principles in the toilet when it's someone in 'my party' misbehaving. People like this need to be charged and penalized.
All too many of the politicians and the public cry "we have to do something," to say that doing nothing is not an option. No, that is not true. When faced with the choice of doing nothing versus doing something stupid, doing nothing is the better choice.
I am so hoping that StarLink lives up to the hype, as well as the potential competitors. If LEO satellites do deliver on low latency, I am going to buy lots of popcorn.
Wow, I'm shocked! (/s)
You mean to tell me that companies will invest less if motivation to invest disappears?
AC, you might want to get a dictionary. I took a look at four dictionaries before responding, just to make sure that I didn't readily see one that has the sort of confining definition of science that you use. Science as an active body of knowledge is accepted use, and that body of knowledge does serve as an active subject. You might want to get a 'grip' on a couple of other definitions, as well, such as 'grip' versus 'gripe,' and 'riggers' versus 'rigors.' Regards
>Even if you think that Fox News is terrible (it is), that Ingraham is not to be
>trusted (she's not), and that her guests are fools (they are), this threat is still
>completely bogus and silly.
I really can't say enough how much I like this sentence.

Addictive used to mean that withholding a stimulus would put a person's health at risk. However, over the past decades, as 'news' organizations have worked to ever sensationalize, 'addictive' now means anything that a person enjoys doing more than once. The word is so watered down now, though some still associate with the original meaning, that we should just strike it from the dictionary.
These bozos don't see the free market that helps us citizens; they're more interested in a free market where they sell their votes and influence to the highest corporate bidders.
This is more proof that encryption backdoors are a brain-dead and stupid idea. If the NSA can't protect their exploits and toolkits, there's no way that they'll keep their keys to our data secure.
Yes, I'm overly optimistic, but I'm hoping that the police department stole from the wrong owner this time. Honda has the deep pockets and a definite interest in making sure that this doesn't set a precedent. I am hoping that they truly unleash the dogs on these larcenous public officials.
So, after the telcos legislatively fight against any sort of competition, they now expect to effectively have local governments subsidize their expenditures. Localities can't even recover implementation costs regarding poles that AT&T has fought hard to keep competitors from using.
If there is a key balaclava manufacturer, I want to invest now!
You hit the nail on the head. If drinks and snacks were priced at market value or if they had current movie pricing with cheap tickets, then I'd be fine. However, I feel like overcharging for refreshments on top of current ticket prices is unacceptable, and I wait to see movies after they've left the theater by Redbox or whatever.
>A better question might be how many times will we let
>>them fail to spend the money we give them on what they
>> are supposed to spend it on?
This will continue until we stop electing officials that sell their votes to the telecoms. Those are same people that are responsible for holding industry accountable, but they're now well-paid to look the other way.
My wife just bought a new car that she really likes, but the bells and whistles bother me a lot. She handed me a key fob for me, and the car senses when the fob is in the car to adjust seat and settings for me. That disturbs me, since the car is connected, acts as a wifi hotspot, and also has a blackbox to track the car's data.
Don't think I'm not aware that just carrying a smartphone means that I'm tracked. I'm not comfortable with it, though I know that the data would (should) just prove that I'm one of the most boring people in the world and clear me if there were ever in the need. Still, we should have some privacy.
From what I've seen, people that throw lots of stones generally live in glass houses; they reveal more about what they do than they do the accused. If someone regularly calls others liars, I've learned to not trust what they say. Some people accuse others of taking their things with no basis, and I know to watch my things carefully around them. Republicans have been screaming election fraud, and we are now learning why election fraud is so heavily on their minds. If the US is working so hard to push the theory that China is putting backdoors and spyware into Huawei's phones, then I want my next phone to be made and manufactured as far from the US as possible.
Re: Re: Re: Speech, free, but what if lies?
Sadly, there are still people that believe what he says, and, even more sadly, they vote. I still regularly have people that I know try to assert that COVID 19 is no worse than the flu.
