Yet my wife acts insulted when I try to hand her cash before doing the deed, but is ok withdrawing money from my bank account. Go figure that one out.
I'm quite curious about this as well, all I can think of (and I am not a lawyer, nor do I work in finance to have any background for this) is that maybe there are conflict of interest implications.
I would also think it might be illegal if they somehow tied in the algorithm which adds advertisements to gmail to a stock market predictor.
Tried finding some explanation via google :) but nothing popped out for me.
I dropped it about 5 years ago - and agree completely......Except when I can't sleep and it's three a.m. and I just want to flip channels until I find something sufficiently mind numbing. On those nights I do sometimes wish I had cable.
From the article it is 267 million over 4 years so roughly 67 million in taxes (although this includes interest and fees so the real amount would be less) - I doubt that Amazon has enough workers in a distribution center to offset this tax loss.
Would be nice if they had posted the songs they think are copied next to the commercials, not having heard of them in order to compare I need to find there music. Seems to have alot of free downloads in the media section on the site though.
"It is a poor argument to say that stuff on your laptop "just sort of gets there" without you knowing about it."
Not necessarily - I'm sure many laptops are corporate issued and if your company is like mine they automaitcally install software, forms, even screensavers every time I log into the network. It's not unreasonable to assume that I don't closely monitor what they are putting on. Plus if they are searching for say child porn - are you responsible for it if a spammer sends you something and you sync before going to the airport but don't read and delete?
As to what I don't want some random border gaurd to look at - anything with my bank account numbers, emails from my family etc. There are lots of legal data that I don't want others to see.
Actually you do have a right to stand and take pictures of airplanes - I thought the point of this post was that they are asking people to report subjective opinions of suspicious behavior that is perfectly legal and in fact a hobby of thousands of people.
I really like how you are able to decide that this is a lie and offer so much proof. You have changed my opinion completely. Thanks for the useful post. /sarcasm/
"You say potato, I say potato."
When I read this you are saying the same word twice ;)
Where I absolutely disagree with google is in cases like this:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-10166532-93.html
Where they have gone onto private roads and taken pictures.
In many cases used to be driveways until the local government mandates they become private roads - but still function as a driveway on private property - this was the case in my parents home when a neighbor sold property that had no road access. To me this is a violation and I never understood why google fought it.
Come to Prague - I'm sure I can find a place that will throw in a free pizza if you buy the hooker ;)
try putting the word "power.com" in your description of the link - blocks me every time I try that, but power dot com worked.
I think if it was as small as .25 I would be more likely to notice it and ask - I seldom charge small amounts.
ah ignore my previous comments - missed AC's clarification that the DNA is only to be used for identification.
I'm wondering the same thing - I was in the army in the late 90's and all of us had to supply our DNA. I've always assumed it was available to law enforcement now. Perhaps though the military doesn't supply it to civilian law enforcement unless you are convicted of a crime?
Either way that's an implication I hadn't thought of - brilliant!
I now want to paint that on my roof and wait for it to show up in Google Earth :)
I wonder if they also include a translation service for whatever fucked up shorthand your kids use?
If this actually starts I think I'm going to set up a script to post "I am the bum fluff, grab a feather" several times a day. No reason except to add to the inane crap they will be storing.
Just a pet peeve of mine - Spotify is not available in Europe, it's available in 5 countries but not even half of Europe.
