  • Amazon Bows To US Censorship Pressure: Refuses To Host Wikileaks

    letherial ( profile ), 01 Dec, 2010 @ 04:30pm

    Re:

This is how the government is getting around free speech, instead of saying its a crime, they claim that all these people will die and the country is at stake now. While no censorship realy happens from the goverment companys like amazon panic and dont look at the facts.

Doesn't really matter, wikileaks could put it on a P2P site and it will get around as long as the media is making a big deal about it, good or bad. all that is lost is business for amazon.

  • Amazon Bows To US Censorship Pressure: Refuses To Host Wikileaks

    Re:

Free speech also includes the ability to read things; true the government wanted to hide it, and they did...for awhile, but once it out, they cannot make it a crime to be read....that being said, its amazons stupidity for falling for this, the blame is on them, the government did not order them to shut it down, therefore, there was no censorship.

  • 30 Months In Prison For Denial Of Service Hit On Politicians' Websites

    letherial ( profile ), 09 Nov, 2010 @ 09:07am

    Re: Re: Re:

DDOS attacks come in a form more then just "opening browsers" these kind of attacks dont happen on accident or because your trying to log in but cant, they abuse the TCP/IP system to bring down servers and there is no other way to do it.

while i do think 30 months is a bit harsh, taking down a politicians website is trying to stop a fair election and thats nerve racking on any side; nobody should do that, despite how much they may disagree with the other side, let voters decide....this is how our country works.

  • BioShock 2, Loaded Up With Annoying DRM That Pisses Off Fans, Cracked Immediately Anyway

    letherial ( profile ), 09 Feb, 2010 @ 06:49pm

What pisses me off is logging into MS live to save the game, that is fucking stupid. I should not have to be on the internet to play a game i just spent $50.00 for. Every time i pay for a game i regret it. I would love to buy a game that i am happy to support, bioshock, civ among many others, but no, i get punished with stupid ideas...no i dont just get punished, i get fucking tricked. Maybe its written somewhere in some small print, i dont know, i dont care, i dont buy a game to read fine print.

I am giving my ultimate oath to not buy any game that supports any DRM from now on, i am not going to get tricked, screwed, manipulated and disrespected all in one blow. Any game that is created can be cracked, and i will from now on go that route. I hope many many many others join me.

  • ACTA One Step Closer To Being Done; Concerns About Transparency Ignored

    letherial ( profile ), 30 Jan, 2010 @ 06:29pm

I believe that it takes any treaty to go through house, senate and such for a vote, it will hopefully become more transparent at that point. I get this info from here
    http://www.senate.gov/artandhistory/history/common/briefing/Treaties.htm
Everyone responsibility now is to demand that the treaty become transparent and look to see who votes and who doesn't.

Most in America have forgotten how much power we have, the fact is the politicians and government take as much power as they can, and through ignorance Americans give them that power. with the internet i don't believe lack of information can no longer fall as a excuse, I also don't believe that we can blame the people we put there. You need a movement, you need people getting off there asses and start throwing this at the people we vote in there, They are the employees.

I like tech dirt, it talks about a lot of things i care about, its unfortunate that i rarely see answers and only see gripes.
