Trump is gonna pass Stalin for number of attributable deaths as well. The million from COVID in his first term was disappointing to his fan club. This is why they had to speed run the tens of millions that will die from destroying USAID. Before ICE gets going at full steam and starts killing immigrants and protesters, cuts to healthcare and food are already baked in and will provide a nonstop wood chipper. That’s before they decide they need to start another mass killing when a war for maniacal reasons is started.
So much focus on news, when most what is on PBS isn’t even news, but educational content. It’s fucking nuts to hear right wingers say something like NOVA is useless and somehow pushes a partisan line, much less the children’s content. Where did this old house hurt you?
I have been pondering this concept often. I don’t see a way out of our current capitalist anti-democratic hellscape stuffed to the brim with misinformation and rage bait without abandoning platforms for a decentralized system where people choose, not have an algorithm choose for them.
I never really understood why the somewhat decentralized web1.0 was abandoned for platforms like twitter, facebook, and Instagram. Not being a part of those platforms ensures I will not patronize nor see content from companies or social groups exclusively advertising on them. When people started using facebook to post events, I was mystified because how can anyone without facebook view it? Why do small companies refuse to maintain a website, but maintain a social media presence? It just blocks out patrons and chains them to these platforms. Open blogs or websites of hobbyists just showing what they did and how they did it, became locked behind gates and converted to people trying to sell popularity. Simple text explanations converted to bloated videos full of ads that take ten times as long to make and are a fraction as useful.
Maybe I’m just an old man ranting at clouds, but it sure seems any innovations of the past ten years provide no benefit except to funnel personal information to people seeking to profit off you while crippling services and the ability to find useful information.
If you cared about punishing criminals, why did you vote for a convicted criminal? He was even properly convicted by our justice system, something not being afforded to ICE victims.
A felon even, which certainly is worse than someone overstaying their visa. I don’t see how not having proper residency is any worse than say, cheating on your taxes. Which the president has also openly admitted to.
How is being allowed in make them somehow here illegally? If they were let based on asylum claims and are awaiting the outcome, they are not doing anything that could be deemed illegal.
I’ve never understood why people like you are so very against people arriving here when just anyone can have a kid. In fact, republicans encourage poor people to have as many kids as possible that will use the same services. I see no reason to care about where they were born.
And don’t fucking pretend this is about money, because hunting down people and sending them to camps is going to cost exponentially more than just letting people live here, work, and pay taxes. With a huge dose of unnecessary cruelty, that i can only imagine you get off on.

NPR bends over backwards to give cranks and crackpots equal airtime to experts, which is why I stopped listening years ago. PBS has great science, nature, craft, how to, and personal interest related content. I can only imagine you just don’t look given the view that you laugh at people being informed about anything.
If these agents are so against chasing people through Home Depot parking lots, the obvious answer is just don’t.
