  In my opinion, unfounded silly laws that make doing lawful things one way legal and doing them another way illegal, do not deserver to stay laws.
  
  And yes, I am for jury nullification. We have a lot of ricky tacky laws to cross people up. So many that its nearly impossible for citizens to remain lawful no matter how hard they try.

  Cognitive Dissonance

  The cognitive dissonance here is almost overwhelming. This event at UNM when looked at in the context of the newly demanded consent guidelines basically boils down to:
  
  Almost anything is accepted
  
  but
  
  Nothing is allowed
  
  I have no idea how the consent rules can actually be billed as "Yes means yes" when they clearly are really more like "Yes means yes until it means no and it can be changed to no at any time".
  
  It is notable that while they apparently had lots of sessions on different sex activities, they didn't have one that discussed consent rules. That is because the consent rules are designed to be indescribable and impossible to logically comprehend.

  The founding fathers new that laws always tended to trod on human rights. This is why so much of the Bill of Rights is worded, "Congress shall make no law."
  
  Anyone who paid any fucking attention during the 20th century (or studied it) would implicitly understand why human rights laws eventually trample on human rights, there are so many examples to choose from.

  Sirius XM really has no choice now they really have to just stop playing music older than 72. Cold turkey, don't play any of that shit. Let the "rights holders" for this music just go to hell and collect NOTHING because their music will NEVER BE PLAYED AGAIN.
  
  Fuck them, fuck them, fuck them. The greedy bastards need to be taught a lesson. I am so sick of this greedy shit. Its not about sharing music with the world, its about fucking over the businesses that are promoting your music. The companies and people trying to do this have no soul.
  
  Its kind of ironic that Copyright law was supposed to support the creation and sharing of culture, but in this case the only way to solve it is to lock the pre-72 works away and never listen to them again.

  Conflating copyright and patents into IP

  I hate things that conflate copyright and patents into the singular header of IP. I'm not sure you can prove that strong copyright laws are truly causing massive damage to industry. There are some instances (pandora, netflix, etc.) where weaker copyright would help them but those companies are still making some headway.
  
  But the pure insane, destructive, evil, horrid bullshit that is software patents is wreaking destructive havoc on the entire industry. Software patents are an innovation destruction machine.

  My guess is that data analysis will reveal that commenters favored the FCC going common carrier or implementing strong net neutrality rules by something like 90% to 10%.
  
  Then the FCC will totally ignore the will of the people and implement "fast" (and by default, slow) lanes anyway.
