  I think you'll find that if you look up the legal definition of theft, and then the legal definition of copyright infringement you'll notice a few things.
  Like ... they're two different things.

  As it turns out ... no, it is not.
  It's the intellectually honest thing to do, to actually use the right terms.
  You don't point at the saltshaker and ask yer wife to pass you the hammer do you ?
  
  More to the point though, Vivaelamor never said copyright infringement was not a crime, she merely pointed out that that crime is not THEFT, and mixing up the terminology is just plain bad.

  If he's the one chosen to argument for 'the other side' here ... it's gunna be a very very short argument once someone explains to him (real slow like and none of dem scary big words) that he lost the argument.

  Cutting net might have been a big mistake.

  Just think how many people are now out on the streets that would otherwise have been passive news consumers in their own homes.
  
  Sure, by cutting communications they might have made it a tiny bit harder for the really motivated people to organize big protests, but as it is now they have people on the streets that would never have gone if they could get news and reports in the safety of their own homes.

  You seem like you don't fully grasp how a VPN works, think of it as surfing via a proxy server, all the logs from the ISP will show you connected to the VPN - not the target webpage/service/ftp/newsserver/tracker/whatever.
  
  So in plaintext, the ISP will hand over the logs, but the logs will be useless since they will only show you connected to the VPN.
  
  And before you even start, a VPN is a service, not an ISP, so the law does not apply to a VPN.

  The logs would not be encrypted to start with, but all the traffic IN the logs would be to the VPN instead of the destination website.
  They can fully comply with the law and hand over the useless logs.
  So yes, That will work.

  In my personal experience Ernie Ball wont last as long, but in Ernie Balls defense though i have to admit that there has been a fair amount of guitarplaying at parties so i might not have been entirely sober when most of those strings broke =).

  What you missed here mike is that they're bringing up the debate on the SWIFT agreement again, this - valid or not - is bringing up the sharing of banking data with the US.
  Potentially this could wreck a lot of information sharing between the EU and the US.
