  The truth tends to be unpopular with some segments of the population, and TD tends to be out front in telling the truth. This stirs up the crazies, who then try to shit bomb the site. Most of the folks here aren't bad, and we tend to vote down the worst of the posts so they are hidden unless you click the button to view the post. But that can take a while, meaning you may have to have some hip-waders on to get through some of the threads here until the majority of the post have gotten down-voted enough to get hidden.

  I just worry that once school starts up, we're one school shooting away from cops being back in schools.

  And did the cops ever keep a school shooting from occurring? I don't seem to remember the celebrations from no more school shootings when the cops were brought in the first time around. No idea why people would think it would work the second time around.

  No, he's right. Officers USED to be trained to de-escalate the situation. I knew several officers in Houston, Texas, who NEVER fired their gun once outside the firing range. One I knew only ever DREW his gun once in twenty years on the force. Now, officers are trained to kick in doors and go in guns blazing, like a commando unit. As we saw in another article here, they now have special training camps (paid for by us) that teach if you're not ready to murder an innocent civilian, you're a pussy and should quit. There's been a HUGE change in how the police deal with the public, and none of it's for the good of the public, no matter your skin color. I do recognize the it's especially bad for non-white people, but don't think that being white is going to automatically make you immune - it might be the last mistake you make.

  The problem is that the people in their districts don't want these criminals back in their district. Congress has long been a way of getting the worst people in town OUT of the town... at least for most of the year.

  In the end, there's little you can do against a determined cheater. That's why tournaments generally have systems setup by the tournament and overseen by actual people - it's the only real way to eliminate virtually any kind of cheating. At some point, you have to ask if alienating the customer is worth getting cheaters. Perhaps the way to go is something more like enticing cheaters away from the normal servers - have server specifically setup for cheaters... allow anything at all and proclaim the winner there as the best cheater. Let the cheaters compete to see who cheats the best.

  $200,000 fine? Really? How is that going to deter any but the very smallest of companies. This is clearly aimed at the peons, as usual. Hell, companies routinely ignore fines in the millions of dollars - they'll laugh at the idea that a fine in the thousands is anything but a green light to behavior.

  Hypothetically, someone who wanted to obtain money to which he was not entitled might do so by exploiting the system to change the bank account numbers for legitimately entitled users to point to an account over which the fraudster has control. Once the state deposits the money, the fraudster transfers it elsewhere and walks away richer.

  No criminal would do this as it would give the investigators a LOT more info on tracking them down. You can't just walk into a bank and set up an account that you can point the system to, you have to provide ID and your social security number at a minimum so the bank can keep the government aware of your transactions as necessary for tax purposes and the like. It's been this way for decades. The only way you could set up an account this way would be to have legitimate faked ID good enough to stand up to the IRS (not likely), or the cooperation of a bank employee (also not likely). So changing the account info to point to another account is highly unlikely, while having the account info and social security number is enough to spend money from that account without much fuss, and little to no paper trail.
