  I can’t imagine that anyone in the Trump administration would be so ignorant to say that they want fewer recruits to the military among the protected classes.

  My first thought was that I can absolutely imagine some of them wanting that. But them I remembered than the billionaires in this cabinet would definitely rather send minorities and the poors to fight instead of their own spawn.

  How did liberal democracy win history for about 60 of those years? When the world was in agreement that “Hitler and the Nazis are bad.”

  That's how long it took for the people who directly witnessed it to start dying off in significant numbers. There's a big difference between a lived experience and watching WW2 movies, and apparently too many people alive today just don't realize how bad it was.

  Characteristics such as skin color are not deficiencies that need special accommodation.

  Poor treatment of non-white people by white people is in fact a deficiency that needs special accommodation.

  Rep. Logan Manhart, R-Aberdeen, said the bill incentivizes “more morality” to students in school and said the Ten Commandments are “good moral teachings students should get.” He said it was “abnormal” that the Ten Commandments aren’t being taught statewide.

  My teenage girls have barely set foot in a church in their lives, but they already know that stealing, lying, murdering, greed, jealousy and cheating in a relationship are bad, and respecting your parents is good (the others are nonsense), because that’s how they were raised. No religion, forced or otherwise, was needed for them to learn how to be good moral people.

  Putting aside "muckety mucks" (WTF...?), we can all read their resignation statement, part of it is right up there in the post. In case you just ignored it: "We will not use our skills as technologists to compromise core government systems, jeopardize Americans’ sensitive data, or dismantle critical public services. We will not lend our expertise to carry out or legitimize DOGE’s actions." That's not disgrace, that's principle, a concept you're clearly not familiar with.

  But if he has managed to not let his racism enter into his work… It could happen, not saying its likely but it could.

  Given that his racist expressions line up with ICE's ostensible purpose (remove as many brown people as possible) I'm just not prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. It seems far more likely that his racism is what attracted him to the job in the first place.

  I find it ironic that Musk is calling for the International Space Station to be deorbited.

  You shouldn't, considering that's been the plan for years and SpaceX has been awarded the contract to develop the required hardware. Musk's petty threat is to do it much sooner than planned, which is a stupidly unrealistic idea anyway.

  No, it's almost certain that Matty is someone in a position to not really care too much about the price of groceries. He just admitted as much to Mike. He's the epitome of the "I've got mine, fuck the rest of you" crowd. The reason he's gloating about what's happening is because at least initially he's not being impacted and other peoples' suffering means absolutely nothing to him. I doubt it will all work out so well in the long term though.
