  And, perhaps, political speech should not be protected speech.

  This has the slightest sliver of plausibility in theory, but would be an unmitigated disaster in practice. There is no way "political speech" could be legally defined (nobody agrees what that is now!) and it would instantly be abused by the very people you're saying free speech absolutism enabled. Your "fix" would be far worse that the actual problem.

If a healthy young person didn't catch Covid because they were vaccinated then they also didn't transmit it to somebody or multiple people who could suffer serious effects or die. That's literally how herd immunity works. But no, you're all "I'm fine, fuck everyone else".

  This is a good measure of Trump's actual reading ability. Think about the reading age level of kids books that mention windmills, and what reading level they start to mention turbines.

  It’s unlikely that any amount of spending will wire up thousands of magic air raid warning sirens into the middle of the wilderness to broadcast a flood warning in the middle of the night.

  But it's entirely likely that SOME spending could have provided ENOUGH non-magical warning sirens in remote occupied areas (like camps full of kids!) to broadcast a flood warning in the middle of the night and SAVE SOME DAMN LIVES! The sooner the fairly obvious cause-and-effect is highlighted the sooner it can be rectified. It takes time for you chucklefucks to be convinced how stupid these budget cuts are after all.

  This may be wishful thinking. With the GOP holding all three branches I'm genuinely surprised the retirements of Thomas and Alito haven't already been announced. They will not allow RBG's mistake to be repeated; they will want younger (and probably even worse) conservative justices appointed while they have full control over the process.
