I can accept the first artist getting paid if he or she is paying additional money to the model. After all their would not be anything to copy without the model.
One study by itself is never enough to answer a question. The variables Le Monde would also lead to the same results so a new study would need to control for those variables.
I thought pirating was because everyone wanted things free? Now you're saying it is some sort of political protest because people are angry? Isn't that protected by the first amendment?
The movie ticket example is useless on its own. Fewer tickets can mean greater profits if the cost has risen to cover lost sales.
Define recorded music please, vinyl disks? CDs? MP3s all of the above?
Try firing up grandma's 5 1/4 floppy,IBM cards, dos based applications without that machine. Many of the keepsakes from our grandparents are still around because they are on paper as opposed to electronic.
You mean that one site has all the music the infringer could ever want? Exactly how do you tell from a search whether a site is infringing or not.
Nope, seizure is confiscation of property. Arrest is depriving someone of liberty. Pretrial confiscation is supposed to prevent the destruction or disposal of property before it can be seized. Was there some concern this site would be moved to a different internet?
I believe that when police decide you have broken the law and come and arreswt you they are required to have something called a warrent. This allows them to physically take you into custody. You then have to quickly be given a hearing on whether they can keep you in custody ane whether they can keep property as evidence. They don't get to grab things keep them for a year or two and then ask.
The members of Congress have an office budget that allows them to hire experts to explain what a particular subject is. They can also send their staff to a brick and mortar store to buy internet for dummies. If they can't be bothered to educate themselves they should be voted out of office.
Are you trying to get me to believe that politicans are upset by lies and distorations?
The point is not whether or not the Conservative Party has a case; the point is most people would not know that Canada exports Asbestos or have associated the party with the export. So now more people know and will generally think that the party supports the export otherwise why would they sue?

If you do not enforce regulations are there, in fact, any regulations? For example, would anyone here care about copyright if it was not enforced or only very rarely enforced?
It is more that he is against government interference in the marketplace. I think he expressed it badly here. He is not saying he is for only one media outlet. Since there currently so many methods of transmitting information you could not achieve one world news. Mike would be against any law that allowed this as he is against laws prohibiting consolidation. At least that's what I took away from it.
How about Costco? They give out free samples. Wrigley gum? or are those people giving out free samples on the street real pirates? You have a great argument style, anything you can't deal with you simply say is silly so you don't have to consider it.
There is not a difference. Both are a use of power and could be the subject of abuse. In the case of the US government there are rules in place to limit that power. The general consensus here is that the seizing of domains is breaking that rule. Government power can physically affect a person. So far as I am aware anonymous is only powerful in an online sense.
Except individuals are reimbursed, businesses are not so it is not simply a matter of personal responsibility.
It's called hiring more employees. You have enough people to do the job you are alleged to be doing. You know like reviewing signatures on title transfers.
If only you could have told this to the freedom riders. It would have saved them all that trouble.

Isn't Link a character in the Zelda series. Shouldn't Lowe's have to license its use from Nintendo?
