Well because there has not been all kinds of laws passed to keep people from modding there cars. There are some such as if you make it to loud, to fast, or too high or low. It cant have the emission equipment removed. And I am a mechanic with a modded Xbox, if I went around telling everyone I could mod there car to remove the US mandated governor to keep the car fro going any faster than 120 miles per hour I would be facing similar charges. Or modding your gas tank nozzle so you could put leaded gas in. (yes that was a big deal 20 years ago). I could understand had he done this for a few friends, but this was more of a business which for starters he did not even have a business license, if you want to start getting all technical. I have to pay for one to own a shop so why should I have sympathy for the guy who cut all the corners to make a quick buck then got busted? And trust me I am not wanting to see that happen to anyone, being a ex-con myself. But I learned, just do it the right way, and if your not, then don't be a dumb ass and advertise it.
