Actually, I think whoever approved the paywall should be charged with felony ignorance with intent to distribute.
I've never understood why, when it comes to passing laws, the 'majority' are not criminals and want the new laws, but the reason they say they need the laws is because the 'majority' are pirates and are killing their business.
Why stop there?

Wasn't it the record labels that thought Bob Dylan could sing?
What you're missing is that "mainstream" is changing. Before, the labels controlled who received the most airtime and who got the most advertisement. Thankfully, to many of us, that is changing. Some people like to have a choice in what they listen to and not be limited to what the labels think we should hear.
Don't need it. We can just pirate whatever we want to watch.
:D
I'm thinking that maybe they are adding value - if you pay them, you get the stories that are actually true!
Or if you're 15 and trying to talk your girlfriend into sex. Or maybe things have changed in the past 25 years. ;)
You can say that again.
Oh wait!
"Measuring "quality of music" is pretty difficult, because you are measuring opinion, which shifts in the wind."
How, then, does the RIAA claim the opposite of what the study showed?
What's good for the goose is good for the bastard. Or something like that.
"Yet, Mike conviently ignores that, it's all about what you can steal for Mike."
I hope enjoys those Nikes I got for him, although it seemed a bit of an odd request just to browse a website and read his article.
Surely you jest... Nobody could be that far removed from reality and be able to operate a browser. I hope.
If you think about it, it doesn't really matter if they can prove it. They can drag you into court and make it last years, costing you a lot more than a settlement would. Guess what most smaller companies would probably opt for?
The problem is, that won't solve the problem. You don't have to use Microsoft programs/hardware/etc. to be sued. You can have zero Microsoft products in use at your shop and STILL be sued because you bought something to use in your business from someone who used pirated Microsoft software. Your hands can be completely clean of any piracy but you can still be sued and have to pay Microsoft.
You might want to include some sarcasm tags next time so people know you're joking. I almost thought you were serious until I realized nobody could be that deranged. ;)
Hookers and blow.
