Oh and referencing the previous article ...
... would somebody please think of the cats.
"The cat is simultaneously dead and alive."
The cat should make up its mind already. Personally, I hope to open the box one day and see a rotting corpse.
Lets see if mike can get Chris Dodd to post an article here.
Next time you use a big word like link, please explain what it is and how to use it. We are dealing with content types after all.
Actually, I think it is a perfect idea. We can spam all the .music artists sites with links to techdirt and Rick Falkvinges infopolicy :)
That is a sure fire way to decrease readership in our day and age. Most people now realize that if a news organization, doesn't allow comments, censors comments, or doesn't allow anonymity, they have an agenda or are spouting a line of bullshit.
I am very good at forecasting future occurrences and trends. It is one of the things I do for a living. The problem for the Germany government is, if they sign ACTA they will effectively double the number of people voting pirate party next time around. The same goes for every nation in Europe that has a pirate party.
That's one better than hot news. What happens to news papers the day that all the first reporting is done by amateur reporters?
Chinese finger traps are the answer to both problems. Thinking about it for a moment, we also need duct tape because of speech recognition, thick sunglasses because of eye tracking, and full body restraints because of Kinect.
... that is on the local, state, and federal level.
An example is the telco's and cable companies. We remove local ordinances that prevent new cables from being run on telephone poles or underground, or new lines from being run into buildings. At the state level remove rules that require state approval for new telcom services, and laws that prevent entry into the telcom industry. At the federal level, I do not even know where to start there are far to many rules and organizations.
Agreed. We also need to go after every rule on the books that is their to protect the entrenched monopolies.
Why don't we ask the Occupy types to join us? After all their entire movement was built on the internet.
Something I have been wondering for a while is, why does Mike even care if they survive or not. He has been at this for ten years and they haven't even begun to listen. The only people that have listened are the artists.
Okay, never mind I just answered my own question.
After the SOPA and PIPA fiasco. It was probably a pushed forward by the administration and the DOJ to show they are doing something about piracy.
The first thing they have to do is open http://www.mpaa.org/blog to uncensored comments ...
solution, fine grit metal polish and a 1980's toy transformer action figure ...
Re:
Basically, State Street Bank filed a lawsuit against Signature Financial Group for violating a patented method for doing what IRS regulations allowed under the law. It was an accounting-business method of avoiding taxes and doing reporting. The ruling allowed for business methods to be patented.
