  LLMs are not an "artificial intelligence," they are a bullshit engines. pattern matching and stringing word tokens together based on the probabilities found from the training data doesn't make them smart, it makes them a stochastic parrot at best. They still don't know anything. They don't know know what's factual or true, just what makes a sentence that sounds coherent, with a probability of being right- if the data sets those probabilities high enough. It's all just guesswork, raised to the level of bullshit because it never admits to that level of doubt.

  It's not a double standard. It's no standards at all. They don't even care if they contradict themselves from 30 seconds ago ("fake news, that never happened"), all they care about is winning- cemementing power and enriching themselves, regardless of the cost to their constituents, the country, or the planet. And their base is so preprogrammed to swallow any lie that by the time they realize the leopards are eating their faces too, it's already way too late. The thing that gets me is that a third of the country are in this boat, and another significant percentage simply doesn't care one way or the other that the country is quickly sliding into a fascist hellstate. It's not just this republican party that's the issue, it's been a systemic problem for decades that the current GOP have been able to build on and exploit. The answer is not just to kick out the fascists, but to build a better system in terms of education, social awareness, and legal protections to stop them getting into power in the first place.

  Given that the murder people through lying about disease prevention, lying about climate change, never offering anything but "thoughts and prayers" after yet another school shooting, rolling back protections on food, worker's rights, and the environment, and baning abortions even though they know full well that the mothers would die- I'm not surprised at all. They always were a death cult. This is just their endgame.
