    Comcast's Roku Beta App

I'm one of the Comcast subscribers this article refers to -- I have the TV service, but my cable box isn't even hooked up. It was cheaper to get the TV service and I knew it would allow me to stream from various content providers by logging in to my Xfinity account.

I was stoked to see the Xfinity Roku app finally get released, but, unfortunately, it's almost unusable at the moment because the audio is horribly out of sync with the video. We're not talking about being slightly out of sync here either -- there's a multi-second delay between what's on the screen and when the audio plays -- it's truly awful in its current state. It's beta, I get it, but disappointing nonetheless.

Their Live TV website works much better so I expect they'll get the kinks worked out eventually, but fair warning to anyone thinking about making a purchase decision based on the Roku app -- it's not ready for primetime yet!

This is just silly government propaganda that you've bought hook line and sinker. Most drug addicts aren't violent in any way and very few of them ever turn violent to support their habits. There are also countless high functioning addicts who are otherwise upstanding members of the community.
Your assumptions about meth users reveal you to be ignorant on the subject and it's people like you that are responsible for the insane incarceration rate in this country. Meth is addictive but you don't go through withdrawals the same way a heroine user does. You know what meth addicts dc when they can't get high? They crash and sleep. That's what.

I've had the unfortunate experience of having a fairly large number of interactions with police officers (never arrested or detained) and in my experience most of them actually do abide by the law. By that I mean, I have to invoke "I'm sorry officer but I don't consent to searches" a dozen different ways and ask "Am I free to go?" in response to their non-answers before they finally give up and allow me to go about my business.

I guess I've been fortunate because even though I've nothing to hide, I've never had any police officer search my car or person after I denied consent. They've tried to trick me into giving consent (the "I'm just going to search you real quick to make sure you're not carrying any weapons" sounds very official when they spring it on you) but if you stick to your scripts -- and make no mistake -- everyone needs to know the scripts, they usually give up and find an easier target. Most people are stupid, ignorant or naively compliant.

The odd thing is that when it's over I have the impression the police have more respect for me than they did at the beginning of the encounter. They know it's a game and they know the rules. They're surprised when anyone who isn't a cop knows them too.

    TL;DR
    Present your ID
    Remain courteous
    Don't consent to searches
Ask the magic question "Am I free to go?"
Don't be afraid to say nothing at all when asked a question or to ask "Am I free to go?" in response to any of their questions.
If you're not free to go -- stop talking.
