    Wow dude... thanks for the very kickass math lesson. I do love math theory!

    But you're arguing with darryl. My only advice is 'don't'... not because he's ever (EVER) going to be more-right than you (or 'right' at all) but because he's great at not just missing a concept, but actively ignoring a concept so he can be right about what he's talking on.

    To put it another way... darryl walks up to a couple of farmers comparing oranges. darryl overhears the farmers saying something like "hmm... oranges are quite orange this year..." and immediately chimes in with "NO! The apples are RED this year!! You're wrong! Stupid American Farmer!". And no matter how much you try to explain that you were comparing oranges, darryl will stand on his soapbox (applebox?) and proclaim how he's right... the apples ARE red. And, of course, will continue to do so with horrible post-structure and abysmal punctuation.

    I'm just as guilty about letting darryl out to run around and tossing the stick for him to chase, so I can't really judge here :)

    Again, thanks for the kickass review of near-infinite. Totally going to discuss that with friends this weekend :)

    Sorry if you think there's some kind of parallel to commercial piracy (you know... the people who produce thousands of copies of stolen media for the purpose of selling... not the downloaders who get it to watch/listen to on their own terms), but I guess you have to be wrong sometimes.

    Great setup, Ewtbee! I was looking for a place to echo-for-effect a point I saw in the quote from Ingram who was quoting Judge Learned Hand (really? is that his name?!): ?The successful competitor, having been urged to compete, must not be turned on when he wins.?

    Are you saying that the free market and capitalist economy of competition should be: ?Compete! Grow! Be successful! Just not TOO successful!!!?

    Really?

    Or, should we watch these ?large? corporations and go after them if they start using their size and success to hurt competition and consumers? You know, instead of assuming guilt-by-association and shooting the people who chase the American Dream and actually catch it.

    I disagree with you that you're being as neutral as you claim. You'll disagree with me and we'll just keep going around.

    So take you victory secure in the knowledge that you make your points ambiguously enough that I can't point to a single thing and say "you're wrong because of..." I'll be over here happy that at least I have the courage of my convictions.

    But since you'll never be able to be wrong, I'll mourn you the fact that you can't ever learn from mistakes. Some of my best learning experiences have been when I was proven wrong and I learned some wonderful insights into the world. But hey, I'm sure being not-wrong all the time must be rewarding as well.

    I see now what you're saying now that you meant... but in the light of everything else you said (and how you said it), it seamed like a dodge to me.

    I am reading what you write. But much like your first statement, you keep couching your arguments in ambiguity. You don't get to sit in the middle, wait for us to call you on one side, then say "Nope! I was over on the OTHER side!"... and then blame me for 'ignoring what you said'. Well, I guess you could, but people are going to hold a poor opinion of you for doing that. But maybe it's all just subconscious and you're not doing it on purpose.
