  ...the Republican who wrote the USA PATRIOT Act had no idea that the provisions contained therein would actually be used by a Democratic administration. Oh, the horror!

  ...why this somehow got passed when practically everything else kicking around Congress sits in limbo. Could it be that the Republicans intend to use this after the dark day when they regain the White House? Sure, they have Fox News, but they only have partial control over News Corp.
