  I'm reminded of the current slogan of the Syfy channel in the US. "Question everything." It seems like such an enlightened slogan from a team of TV marketers doesn't it?

  Is it sad that I trust print and TV news about as far as I can throw their buildings? You can throw anything told to me by my own government (actually anyone's government) onto that pile while you're at it. sigh
  
  Granted, I take all news I didn't witness with a grain of salt (even here) but some folks seem to go out of their way to turn that grain into a whole pile.

  All lawyers are not like this. Unfortunately the 'good' ones (meaning honest if not decent as well) don't get much in the way of headlines because who wants to hear about someone who's doing exactly what they're supposed to?
  
  The scamming and other nonsense behavior is likely centered far more around corporate legal teams than your average defense attorney/prosecutor. Lawyers with consciences typically go into defense/prosecution due to their beliefs while corporate lawyers get into it for the money. Of course as with all things there are exceptions :(

  While I agree it's laughable it's probably not that big a deal if you consider the fact that the HQ might not even be the closest station to her home. Besides that, why would she want to after this mess?

  I'd probably have to vote BoA over EA if those are the two finalists. EA can destroy my favorite franchises but outside of that they don't have much power, especially when compared to a major bank. Still, in terms of public relations EA certainly takes the cake according to what I've seen thus far.
  
  One can only hope the shareholders see this and start asking VERY pointed questions. Didn't they just fire their CEO/COO/head jackoff?

  Nothing stops them from doing that now, but it doesn't necessarily mean that one would lead to the other. The maximalists already have well established finances anyway if their lobbying is any indication, why would they bother with kickstarter?

  There's remarkably little to troll in this story. They showed up, pleaded the fifth, and the hearing ended. There's no opinion piece and no other discussion really. It'd be like someone calling the sky red. While I'm certain some people might actually be stupid enough to try I'm pretty sure the average troll can figure out when to shut up.

  I realized that I wasn't terribly clear so here it is; my dislike of the service has nothing to do with this or any related incident. I just don't find it to be a valuable tool for me is all.

  A corporation standing up for user privacy rights? I'm impressed. I didn't think there were any of those left to be perfectly honest. Good for Twitter. I'm still never using their service but good for them.

  If you frequently complain about people calling you names and/or attacking your sanity/intelligence then do the same to your opponents, what does that make you exactly? You are no better than your opponent if you resort to the same tactics they use.

  Do you know for certain that the vast majority of the content was of an infringing nature or are you making an assumption? If so I would love to see the breakdown as I'm actually curious as to the general content found on a torrent site.
