There's a reason people make fun of Florida constantly. This is about average for Florida (Gaetz)
FIFA is just helping block your view of two "Soccer balls" being moved rapidly back and forth by someone named "Richard" towards a "goal".
AYFKM?
This is like saying gaming through a postage stamp is plenty. Things look *awful* on 720p, let alone 480p when the average mobile screen is 1080p or above (many are 2k/4k).
It should actually be *HOLLYWOOD*. That's the best part, not google/facebook/etc.
7. Do you believe that services like HOLLYWOOD should take greater responsibility for the use of their platforms to facilitate the illegal distribution of creative copyrighted movies, television shows, music, photography, and books?
The real reason isn't quite the timeframe or terrorism. It's shifting the accountability to being an afterthought.
If this was so magically important; wouldn't they be just as concerned with text messaging or newspaper or tv media?
I know nothing about it aside from they tried to pay people very poorly to basically apply subjective rules to google search. One position was called social media internet assessor (aka moderator), and another was explicitly focused on mobile search. Both were focused on accuracy, not speed - which makes sense given the number of people they must be hiring.
That being said, it's subjective accuracy and was basically relying on human tuning and they were clearly targeting the ability to pay people a very low income to moderate.
I don't even bother trying to follow their restrictions on sizing of materials anymore, and about 1 in 10 trips they find something in my luggage to confiscate (normal toothpaste! OMG!) etc.
I wish flying didn't involve the TSA, because the Theater of Security in Aviation is as much a failure as it's ever been.
At a minimum they certainly are at least working with them and featured by them, and publish articles to elsevier.

Sounds like they're just a puppet for elsevier at this point.
No.
"We've turned this on guys, please do it" is no less acceptable than "...."
That's a "please help us fix business model problems and oh give us more $$"
This is no fault other than explicitly facebook. There are lots of anti-bot measures they could be doing and naturally do not have an interest in doing (because facebook's total user count would plummet).
I wish I could find posts about analysis of how much of FB is bots but it is a significant amount.
I'd hope people would realize that lack of action on preventing bots goes hand in hand with lack of quality in understanding things like filtering/free speech.
Even techdirt themselves talked about how indiegogo is not kickstarter and doesn't even vaguely check that a project is legitimate before taking your money.
So, surprise?
I would have been seriously cracking up if that were the case...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tikkun_olam
I worked for one of the major hotels. They pretty much acknowledged they "can't compete with airbnb/boutique hotels". That was verbatim from a company status meeting for all employees.
This corporate lobbying needs to be prevented.
Mashable has never been anything more than a clickbait/entertainment site.
Did someone actually expect that Mashable would be a site that has actual intelligent and useful discourse?
Yep, even more confirmation that anyone who wants privacy should be using Tails ( https://tails.boum.org/ )
This is untrue. Gerrymandering ensures that your vote doesn't always count, because even if you vote 99% democrat and 1% republicans vote in your area the repub will get the house seat.
I've emailed her in the past; I didn't get an impression she was willing to come back after having Maureen O'Gara personally attack her and privacy etc. :/
I have a cousin with the spampata last name
I never get responses when I email her. Maybe I should check my spam folder.
